Layout Designer - Electrical R42063 The Layout Designer will support engineers with drawing layouts by utilizing computer-aided drafting software. This role will also be responsible for creating The Layout Designer will configure reliable, functional, and cost-effective heavy-duty truck electrical systems. Generate custom bills of material and the associated wiring documentation required for the manufacturing process. Partner with order management, manufacturing, and suppliers to design new custom options that are compatible with existing product structure. Support manufacturing throughout the build process. YOUR IMPACT These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned. Ensure the smooth flow of operations within the engineering department by optimizing engineering design(s) for manufacturing process efficiency and effectiveness. Configure functional, reliable, and cost-effective electrical systems that meet all applicable NFPA and FMVSS standards. Configure vehicle electrical systems based on order option content. Utilize ERP systems to create part numbers following the proper naming process and data entry requirements. Maintain a working knowledge of JDE, PULSE, Domino, and Microsoft Office Software. Prepare engineering change notices (ECN). Self-check own work to ensure accuracy and that of others. Works independently with minimal direction. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Associate degree in Electrical Design or equivalent* with two (2) years of experience in drafting/design. Seeking a Natural Gas Distribution Designer with 3 or more years of experience. The position is responsible for designing and developing construction plans for gas distribution systems.
