Project Management, Design & Order Process
Identify, log, and track new projects from lot scrape to installation via portals, emails, phone & text.
Monitor and log job production status several times a week through various applications. i.e., builder portals, emails, phone & text. Not all builders use their portals.
Gather documents needed through various applications to prepare measure packs to send to the field. (Selection sheets, color sheets, option sheets, cabinet details, floorplans & elevations, PO, price quotes, etc.)
Review documents for accuracy and missing information related to builder specific cabinet line-ups, hardware finish availability/specs, countertops, appliances, option & custom design, and PO pricing - Communication with designers, purchasing departments, builders, and salesman if there are any issues or discrepancies. Follow-ups and documentation needed for any changes.
Prepare measure packs - Create lot specific cabinet designs based off builder selections, options, and customization to ensure field personnel has all information needed to perform an accurate measure; providing lot specific floorplans, cabinet selections, vent centers, apron sinks, built out fridge, stacked cabinets, crown, bump ups, island wraps, utility sinks w/out cabinet, island change, etc.
Email the complete measure pack to our field personnel pointing out the measure date, builder contact, options, vent center location and any other important information needed.
Follow up with field personnel and builder if measures aren't received back in a timely manner to ensure we stay on track with the builder timelines.
Begin the order process once a measure is received.
Review documents via builder portals and emails to ensure no changes have been made since the measure pack was created and sent out. Obtain documentation, make any changes needed, communicate any paperwork/selection issues.
Review measure sheets. Communicate any issues with the builder (framing, plumbing, vent locations, return walls, etc.). Communicate any return trips needed to our field personnel.
Make 2020/cabinet layout adjustments needed based off measure sheets and correspondence from builder.
Ensure cabinet layouts and elevations have necessary notes. Provide details and diagrams for cabinet installation. i.e., appliance cutouts, diagrams, wine fridge specs, bump out notes, custom design notes, etc.
Create cabinet order material list(s). Ensure accuracy for cabinet selections, quantities and sizes needed for crown, stacked cabinets, décor doors, paneling, toe kick, shoe, scribe, and any other cabinet materials needed.
Create cover sheet including accuracy for cabinet, countertop and hardware selections, quantities and any plywood/cleats/studs needed for various cabinet designs for a complete cabinet installation. Additional information and materials needed for chase boxes and wood hoods.
Obtain and provide an accurate delivery and installation date from builder and ensure dates are met to the best of our ability.
Create job specific installation pay sheet.
Combine all documents needed to create and submit a complete cabinet order.
Create installation packs to include all cabinet layout(s), top layout(s), elevation(s), diagrams, and builder specific installation checklists.
Submit order to Share drive and log order status.
Review and approve order once received (from Lani). Inform them of any discrepancies or changes that need to be made.

Facilities: The Game Art Department provides facilities designed to replicate a professional studio environment. Students and faculty work with state-of-the-art computers, high-end graphics hardware, industry-standard software, and ergonomic furniture. Full-time Institutional Technology staff support the Department.
The Position: The Game Art Department is seeking a Game Designer to join our full-time faculty and contribute to the continued strength and evolution of the program. The successful candidate will bring professional experience in game design and development, with demonstrated ability to guide projects from concept through prototype to polished completion. Faculty will teach three courses (nine credits) per semester, ranging from introductory to advanced work in game design, level design, and interactive systems development. Instruction will cover ideation and prototyping, core mechanics design, systems balance, level design, player psychology, UX principles, iteration through playtesting, and design documentation, translating these principles into performant, playable experiences in Unreal Engine 5. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across art, programming, and production disciplines, and will bring experience mentoring designers and leading teams.
This full-time appointment with benefits carries the expectations for ongoing creative work or research in the field, as well as active participation with faculty, department and college services. A portfolio showcasing design thinking, iteration, and player-centric design is essential.
Ability to articulate core design principles: ideation, prototyping, systems balance, player psychology, and to guide students in pitching and defending design concepts.
Familiarity with at least one modern game engine (Unreal 4/5, Unity or equivalent) and ability to integrate performant engine workflows into their teaching.
Demonstrated ability to work across disciplines (art, programming, production) and communicate design concepts clearly in both written and verbal forms.

Position Responsibilities
Develop detailed electrical design drawings for low voltage switchboards, controls, junction boxes, troughs, and bussed trough ways
Optimize designs for low cost, high reliability, and ease of manufacturing
Create and maintain quality control for drawings, one-lines, component layouts, wiring diagrams, BOM's, project submittals, construction drawings, and As-Builts
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, including ANSI, IEEE, NFPA, NEC, and UL.
Provide Engineering and technical support to manufacturing, test, and product support

What You Will Do
We are looking for a Show Set Design Intern that will work within the department that turns concepts for immersive Disney environments into reality by collaborating with project teams and designing, coordinating, and communicating the details which maintain the creative intent of a show for bidding, construction, production, and installation purposes! The intern is an integral part of the design process which creates documents including drawings and digital models that express the design intent and coordinate all show disciplines within the boundaries of the architecture. The Show Set Department continues its support of the design intent in vendor shops and through installation in the field. Areas of direct responsibility include all set walls, scenic flats, platforms, ground rows, murals, set decoration, animated props, and artificial foliage.
Additionally, the intern will coordinate the ride system, animated figures, show-action equipment, projection equipment, audio equipment, ride sensors, special effects, rigging elements, facility elements, control rooms, guest egress, sprinklers, electrical boxes, exit signs, catwalks, themed lighting, show lighting, visual intrusion, maintenance access and all other physical entities within the show environment. Through the many artifices of the Stage and Entertainment medias, it is the mission of the Show Set Department to create highly entertaining environments in which the magic of each Disney story is possible. Support development, coordination, and communication of production design concepts to the project team
Support the design and expert coordination of the project design intent as directed by Principal and Senior Show Set Design leads for the project
Assist production designers and model shop artists in coordinating models with drawings
Research applicable materials and construction techniques
Assist in maintenance and creation of show lists
Support mock-ups and presentations including set-up and strike
Work on a team to create show set design packages and contract scope documents, within company standards and guidelines
Work is first shift but may require second and third shift periodically
Required Qualifications & Skills
2D and 3D computer aided design on a variety of software; specifically, Rhino & Revit
Ability to read drawing packages and interpret contract documents with a solid knowledge of Excel and MS Word
Ability to create contract documents across a variety of theming styles, using hand drawings, 3D programs (Revit and Rhino preferred). Interoperability between many other programs would be helpful
Eagerness to learn new workflows and ability to critically problem solve interoperability and coordination issues between teams
Able to follow and apply all company drafting standards, policies, and procedures
Valid Driver's License Required
Education
Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher attending an accredited college/university earning a degree in Architecture, Theatre Design, Film Production, Scenic Design, Production Design, Interior Design, Industrial Design or Product Design.
