    This position is designated as PRN (as needed). PRN employees are expected to have open availability and be flexible in their scheduling. This includes the ability to work both AM shifts (6:30 AM - 3:00 PM) and PM shifts (3:00 PM - 7:30 PM), as well as weekends and holidays as required to support departmental needs. Functions as the primary point of contact for nutrition services on the patient unit. Utilizes problem-solving and communications skills as well as knowledge of diet therapies to perform duties in an accurate and timely manner. Principal Duties: * Distributing, assisting, collecting and correcting of patient menu selections. * Deliver patient trays to floors per unit using Meal Delivery Carts. * Assemble Meal Trays according to Patient Selections and Diet Guidelines. * Passing of meal trays and nourishments using two Patient identifiers and collecting of meal trays from all patients, including isolation patients * Fill patient requests and retrieve missing/needed items for delivery to patient's in timely manner. * Assist in passing water to patients. * Record intake for patient's on I &O's and/or caloric counts. * Maintain the unit kitchens. * Clean kitchen and refrigerators * Record refrigerator temperatures each day and adjust thermostats as necessary. * Rotating and replenishing bulk nourishments. * Maintain updated diet lists, and status on all patients. * Who, why, when status of eating * Admissions, transfers, discharges * Know where trays and nourishments are * Decrease number of extra trays * Process upcoming requisitions * Deliver TF to nursing unit as ordered. * Record tray count on meal conversion sheets. * Ensure safe food handling. What You'll Do Dining Service & Hospitality * Serve meals promptly and courteously, ensuring all dishes are appetizing, properly garnished, and at the correct temperature. * Follow dining etiquette and service standards: * Serve food from the left and beverages from the right. * Step back when pouring to prevent spills. * Maintain beverages throughout the meal and offer refills promptly. * Inform residents of daily soups, breads, and desserts before taking orders. * Take orders from left to right (clockwise) and ensure all items are served accurately. * Engage residents with kindness and attentiveness-anticipating needs and ensuring comfort. * Check tables regularly, clearing dirty dishes before serving dessert or new courses. * Support a calm, cheerful dining atmosphere that enhances residents' enjoyment and dignity. Sanitation & Safety * Maintain cleanliness and order in all dining and service areas at all times. * Sweep and mop floors as directed, and ensure all work areas are clean, dry, and free from hazards. * Carry out garbage, sanitize surfaces, and store supplies properly. * Perform ware-washing duties as assigned, keeping dishes, utensils, and equipment spotless. * Follow all infection control and food safety policies and procedures. * Report any hazardous equipment, spills, or unsafe conditions immediately to the manager. * Follow all safety, dress, and hygiene regulations. Teamwork & Professionalism * Collaborate with the kitchen and care teams to ensure timely, efficient, and accurate meal service. * Help welcome and train new dining team members, modeling Legacy's hospitality standards. * Maintain confidentiality of resident information and uphold resident rights at all times. * Participate in staff meetings, in-service training, and workshops as directed. * Respond calmly and effectively during fire or emergency situations, assisting with resident evacuation if needed. * Maintain a neat and professional appearance in compliance with Legacy's dress code. * Assist with special events, themed meals, and celebrations to create memorable experiences for residents and families.
