This position will be asked to:
Answer the phones in the dispatch center using appropriate communication skills.
Using pre-established criteria to determine the best way to provide service to the customer.
Assign runs to appropriate crews in a timely basis.
Follow up with crews so that company goals, in regards to response times, are maintained.
Maintain appropriate record keeping in the dispatch program and other documents that are required
Maintain an open line of communication between you and your supervisor.
Successfully complete and maintain the Emergency Medical Dispatch certification
Complete administrative tasks as assigned.
Participate in periodic and annual skill evaluations.
Performs any other related duties as assigned.
Be able to analyze problems and develop practical solutions.
Be able to manage time in a multi-tasking environment.
Be able to prioritize based on changing need.
This position will report directly to the Dispatch Supervisor.
Qualifications
Requirements for the position include:
Attention to detail,
Ability to effectively communicate with others (written and verbal),
Ability to use a personal computer and Microsoft Office based products,
Effective problem solving techniques and the ability to handle a fluid work environment.
Possesses leadership abilities and sound judgment, works well under pressure and able to use discretion when needed.
Previous experience in the EMS field with a current certification as a Paramedic or EMT and/or scheduling background is preferred.
Once obtained, a dispatcher must keep the Emergency Medical Dispatch certification active and current.
Previous experience in a call taking center / environment is preferred.
Strong customer service skills with a focus on communication, determination and organization.
Simple reading, complex writing, basic math skills, judgment/decision making, and analysis/comprehension skills.
Current or previous experience as an EMT or Paramedic is a plus.

This role is dedicated to ensuring AAA members are sent the necessary resources to be rescued from their roadside emergency in a timely manner. This position involves managing service requests, coordinating with service facilities, and maintaining communication with various stakeholders. Select and coordinate the movement of service vehicles according to departmental standards.
Demonstrate proficiency in computer systems and relevant technology.

Manage multiple list views efficiently and accurately.
Support management with the implementation of changes and training to ensure service accuracy.

Promote AAA membership benefits through thorough knowledge of Hoosier Motor Club programs.
Participate in quality assurance activities by conducting member follow-up calls to assess experiences and expectations, aiming for a minimum of twelve (12) calls per hour.

Duties and Responsibilities
Draw bars assigning cranes, trucks, and employees to all jobs the day before to provide an accurate daily activity spread sheet.
Process all new hires and assist in maintaining training database and assist in badging.
Evaluates, processes, and transmits information, instructions, and permits.
Monitors weather activity and evaluate how to proceed based on weather-related regulations and policies
Prepares daily dispatch reports and determine schedules.
Coordinate with billing to ensure rates and job tickets are submitted accurately and timely.
Works with the Compliance Specialist to ensure Maxim operates in accordance with DOT and other regulations.
Assists in the creation of appropriate maps and direction charts to assure compliance with applicable permit laws
Assists in the dispatch of labor and equipment, also maintains communication with operators and drivers.
Communicates with local unions timely to ensure customer orders are filled and satisfied.
Checks that inspections have been completed and are correctly filed; refers any discrepancies and service issues to service.
Performs weekly spot checks on rigging stock for cranes and warehouse stock.
Checks to ensure all items needed in the JDS are ready for the operator to perform the job.
Reviews ELD compliance for cranes assigned to that branch
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Associate or Technical degree preferred
Experience:
3+ years' prior experience as an equipment operator, driver, or in an administrative support role.
Prior transportation and/or heavy equipment experience is preferred
Skills
Moderate level communication skills, must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos and the ability to write simple correspondence. Also must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and in small group situations to other employees
Advanced level attention to detail
Moderate level PC skills, including proficiency in MS applications, especially Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
Advanced ability to problem resolve and make sound decisions during high pressure situations
Expert multitasker with ability to meet deadlines
