Assigns driver loads to deliver freight to customers in a timely and efficient manner. Ensures drivers meet weekly revenue targets, aligned with overall departmental revenue goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assigns drivers to convey freight as requested by customers, in compliance with DOT regulations and company guidelines.
2. Utilizes load boards, call lists and other options to solicit work for available drivers.
3. Communicates and confirms assigned dispatch for all assigned drivers.
4. Communicates with customers on orders and schedules drivers based upon customer needs and driver availability.
5. Makes adjustments with dispatch based upon changing customer needs and driver availability.
6. Communicates customer, DOT compliance, violations, and safety concerns to drivers as necessary.
7. Manages issues and handles required discipline until escalated to management team.
8. Solicits and secures outside carrier support when work volume exceeds Company capacity.
9. Works with Director of Sales to prioritize customer loads and ensures dispatch and sales are in
alignment.
10. Ensures the accuracy of orders, driver loads and other information within the McLeod transportation system.
11. Enters driver assignment data in McLeod transportation system.
12. Works with drivers to ensure they are being efficient and productive.
13. Works with maintenance team and other Dispatchers to track and ensure Owner/Operators are having quarterly tractor inspections and Company fleet follows vehicle and equipment preventative maintenance programs.
14. Optimizes revenue potential for each driver while minimizing empty miles.
15. Clearly communicates to Owner/Operators and Company drivers expected gross pay for each load.
16. Remains proficient with all transportation systems, including Geo Tab ,McLeod and LYTX.
17. Answers after-hours emergency dispatch line (on-call phone).
18. Prepare and publish daily and weekly reports for transportation KPIs as directed.
19. Communicates customer issues and works with appropriate staff to resolve in a timely manner.
20. Performs various other ancillary administrative duties to support the transportation department.
21. Performs other tasks and projects as requested.
Job Skills Requirements
· Prior team leadership experience
· Minimum of 2 years of dispatch experience in the transportation industry or related field

What you will do -

Prepare vehicle maintenance reports and ensure scheduled maintenance of all vehicles.
Develop relationships with 3rd party courier companies to ensure accountability related to best pricing strategies, courier budgets, and courier routes.
Responsible for team's vendor credentialing
Effectively use office technology (e.g. ERP systems, Access, Excel and Word.) and associated data analysis/diagnostic skills

Monday - Friday (During School Days)
1:00pm-5:00pm or 1:30pm-5:30pm
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Answer telephones and respond to customer inquiries
Take effective notes when necessary
Provide exceptional customer service
Follow-up on request of phone calls with manager
Communicate with drivers as needed
Basic administrative tasks to ensure drivers are adequately prepared for routes
Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong organizational and communication skills, written and verbal. Detail oriented including documentation skills

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Wisconsin Driver's License meeting GO Riteway driving standards

Position Summary:
Responsible for coordinating the overall scheduling and dispatching of delivery operations by communicating with truck drivers through computers, phones or two-way radios. Assign drivers to trucks and make sure that they leave and arrive on schedule. Available at all times to answer any questions from drivers, help them avoid traffic jams and keep them aware of inclement weather ahead. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Position Responsibilities:
Dispatchers keep track of the progress drivers make along their route by using available technology.
Check drivers in and out of terminals and transfer the trip records into a company's files.
Communicate with drivers on a daily basis, but must handle any requests and complaints from customers.
Calculate miles for all trucks.
Determine travel and route times so that delivery costs can be accurately determined.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
