We are seeking a highly capable Field Engineer who thrives in client-facing environments and has a strong background in networking and end-user support. This role plays a critical part in the success of Cortavo's managed service delivery model handling everything from complex onsite issues and installations to remote troubleshooting and documentation. This position demands the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and respond positively to sudden changes in priorities.
The Field Engineer represents Cortavo directly with clients and their end users, and is expected to demonstrate technical proficiency, clear communication, and an ability to adapt to evolving needs and schedules.
This is a hybrid field role requiring:
Onsite support at client locations at least once per week (or more, based on the discretion of the hiring manager)
Travel on short notice to other client sites when needed
Occasional overnight travel, including multi-day deployments
*When not onsite, the Field Engineer will provide remote support and collaborate with internal teams to close tickets and improve documentation.
This role has dual reporting to the Service Delivery Manager and the Service Delivery Team Lead.
Responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional onsite and remote support for Cortavo clients and their end users
Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot workstations, laptops, printers, and networking equipment
Act as the technical face of Cortavo building trust through professionalism, punctuality, and accountability
Maintain detailed and accurate ticket documentation, including timekeeping, notes, and scheduled tasks
Support Office 365, Windows 11, MacOS, network connectivity, VPNs, and basic server administration
Image and deploy devices as part of client onboarding and refresh initiatives
Conduct new user orientation and “first day” training on equipment and support access
Maintain clean and organized workspace setups, ensuring cable management and presentation standards
Respond to shifting priorities and travel on short notice as client needs arise
Stay overnight at client locations when required, sometimes for multiple days
Track and restock inventory in vehicles and field closets
Assist with RMAs and warranty claims for damaged or failed equipment
Maintain and write accurate knowledge base articles as you come across knowledge and information while working cases. Knowledge is the base of Managed Services.
Work collaboratively with Service Desk, Engineering, and Client Success teams on escalated support
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Valid U.S. Driver's License with clean driving record
Able to lift/move 50+ pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods
Willing and able to travel regionally on short notice, including multi-day overnight trips
Associate's degree in related field or in progress is acceptable
2+ years of experience in IT support, field services, or desktop support roles
Strong knowledge of networking concepts (Wi-Fi, VLANs, DHCP/DNS, VPN, firewall basics)
Proficiency in Windows 10/11, Office 365, Teams, and desktop imaging tools
Strong ticket discipline: accurate time entries, clear notes, and effective follow-up
Comfortable juggling multiple tasks and tickets in a fast-paced environment
Professional and empathetic communicator, especially under pressure
Strong organizational skills and a commitment to documentation and process

Managed Service Provider experience
Microsoft Certifications, particularly any prerequisite for Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert and Exam MS-102: Endpoint Administrator

Job Summary
Assists the Project Engineer with being the technical source of information for the project. Step II is used for employees with 2 years of experience in this position, or with experience on larger and more complex projects. The 'Senior' step is used for employees with more than 4 years of experience and/or experience on significantly larger or more complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assists Project Engineer in developing and maintaining as-built drawings and other work tasks and assists with or reviews and processes submittals, change orders, RFl's, and budget forecasting. Ensures the timely and appropriate generation, collection, distribution, storage, retrieval and ultimate disposition of meeting agendas, RFl's and daily reports.
2. Demonstrates an understanding of the project management plan (PMP) and is involved in support and execution of the plan. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the change management process and performs project scope activities and supports the project team to ensure the work needed to complete the project successfully.
3. Ensures the administration of the project quality management plan and demonstrates and reinforces a culture of safety throughout the project.
4. May assist in the calculation of daily production rates and unit costs for self-performed work. Participates in risk management including identification, analysis, response planning and monitoring and control on a project and demonstrates competency in understanding the environmental control processes for the project and takes corrective actions when necessary.
5. May be responsible for overseeing/managing the BIM (Building Information Modeling) Coordination between Subcontractors and Designers.
6. May be responsible for the documentation and submittal for the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification of a building and for creating and updating Digital Record Drawings (ORD).
7. May provide lines, grades and layout as required for the project while maintaining an organized log book.
8. May provide the following weekly quantities: maintains accurate quantity logs and reports quantities in compliance with the cost control manual. Completed logs are to be filed with the project files. Perform elements of the processes involved in budgeting and controlling costs so that the project can be completed within the approved budget. Demonstrates business acumen within area of responsibility. (Not all Field Engineers track quantities)
9. Provides support to superintendents required for the execution of the work and assists in the resolution of field problems as necessary.

2. Entry-level position that normally requires a four-year construction-related degree or equivalent technical/field experience.

Your opportunity
We're looking for a Electrical Engineer Intern to join our Connected Communities Team in Peachtree City, GA. You'll be responsible for designing and supporting our outdoor and sports lighting products.

What you'll do
* Prototype and build Proof-of-Concepts
* Test and evaluate lighting fixtures and various critical electrical/mechanical components
* Write ECNs (Engineering Change Notice) to document changes to products
* Support post-sales technical issues and resolve quality issues related to components or manufacturing; troubleshoot field related technical issues
* Write executive summaries to communicate issues and resolutions to management
* Coordinate with manufacturing and implement factory tests
What you'll need
* Currently in pursuit of a Bachelors' or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
* Demonstrate basic electrical design approaches and capabilities
* Have basic knowledge of electrical circuits and components
* Be able to multitask

Candidate Responsibilities:
Position is for a design engineer in the Electrical design team located in LaGrange, GA. Responsible for development of electrical system design such as component selection, component placement, electrical schematic creation, harness routing, and bracket designs. Responsibilities include: design of the electrical systems, verification of the designs, working through interfaces with other design teams, initiating and checking completion of detailed designs, costs of final designs, and other design tasks as required.
Job Skill Requirements include:
Strong analytic and problem solving skills, proficient in 3D modeling (ProE/Creo), working knowledge of electrical systems, capability to read and create electrical schematics, TeamCenter database manager, New Product Development Experience, understanding BOM structures, Excel, Powerpoint, MS Office, Strong verbal and written communication skills. It is highly desirable that the candidate have previous Cat experience in NPI and Cat data systems.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in engineering required and two to five years of engineering experience in design required. This position is on-site in LaGrange, GA, and remote work will not be considered.
Typical Day
Typical work day is in the office designing and modeling electrical systems, including harness routing and schematic creating, using Pro-E/Creo modeling software as well as leading off site resources for detailing. Candidate will work in collaboration with other system design engineers, manufacturing engineering, purchasing, and supply chain to develop designs that meet customer requirements. Some work is determining root cause and developing solutions to issues found during product development.
