Job Purpose

Process Control / Technical Service Engineers can work on a wide array of projects in support of the process control systems installed throughout the refinery and products movements areas. The process control systems in the refinery provide real-time control and data acquisition functions in support of operating the refinery process and electrical equipment. Typical college co-op assignments include the following: troubleshooting system power supply problems, control system programming, hardware and software lifecycle replacement projects, installing and troubleshooting communication networks and monitoring control system performance metrics.

JOB DESCRIPTION
As an Embedded Control Systems Engineer in our Vehicle Electronics & Software (VES) organization, you will lead the development and platforming of vehicle displays, gauges and In-Vehicle Infotainment units. You will work with the vehicle product teams to integrate these solutions into all Polaris Strategic Business Unit (SBU) product families including Off Road Vehicle Side-by-Sides and ATVs, Slingshot, Indian motorcycles, and snowmobiles. This is an exciting role where the products you develop are released to production on new vehicles at a very fast pace.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with the GBU product team's electrical system engineers to understand and decompose vehicle system level requirements into controller level hardware and software requirements.
Document requirements and validation tests using formal requirement and SW Application Lifecycle Management tools such as PTC Codebeamer, Confluence, JIRA.
Interface with vendor(s) and Polaris Sourcing as needed for display/gauge development.
Interface with other Subject Matter Experts to ensure I/O analysis is completed and communication protocols and messaging are defined.
Ability to support internal/external software teams in triage, analysis, and root cause of complex software issues found during device validation and vehicle testing.
Support validation team to develop, document, & execute component, subsystem, & vehicle-level validation plans & procedures, for HW and SW, including MIL/SIL/HIL simulation and bench/vehicle testing.
Ensure system design best practices and support process improvements which align with Functional Safety goals/standards of the organization.
Optimizes component design and manages re-use to serve multiple product lines and functionality requirements with the shortest design cycle times possible.
Work with the Polaris Cybersecurity team to develop secure architectures that continue to evolve as needed to ensure security as system complexity & threats advance.
Other duties as required. Some (domestic and international) travel required.
Hybrid work arrangement is possible. Requirement is to reside within commuting distance of either Wyoming, MN or Novi, MI and able to work onsite multiple days per week as project work demands.
SKILLS & KNOWLDGE
B.S. or higher in Engineering required; Electrical, Software, or Computer Engineering desired
3+ years' experience in design and/or implementation of controls devices or systems required experience related to vehicle controls/diagnostics/communication preferred.
Familiarity with requirements and test case management required - familiarity with requirements management best practices and tools such as PTC Codebeamer.
Experience in Infotainment domain preferred.
Experience with communication networks required, CAN, UDS, and J1939 strongly preferred.
Experience with software and/or hardware V&V efforts and unit testing required, MIL/SIL/HIL experience preferred.
Experience in effective problem solving and troubleshooting methods required
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced development environment required
Experience with DFMEA, SFMEA, HARA/TARA preferred.
Embedded hardware, electronic circuit, and RF design experience a plus.

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $78,000 to $103,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.

The Swing Shift Field Engineer will assist the Superintendent, engineering staff, and Project Manager in managing all aspects of a construction project including the field operations and project administration. Responsibilities:
* Assists with pre-construction activities as needed: construction planning and design; interpretation of design and drawings
* Has a clear understand specifications, drawings, standards, and subcontractor & supplier scope of work, etc.
* Demonstrates, communicates, and reinforces the all Company safety policies and procedures.
* Interprets specifications, designs and drawings and prepares quantity takeoffs
