We are seeking a licensed ElectricalEngineer (PE) with strong design expertise and project management experience to lead federal infrastructure, water/wastewater and industrial projects. This role blends hands-on engineering with leadership responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who thrives in both technical and client-facing environments.

As a Senior Professional ElectricalEngineer, you will:
Lead the design of medium and low voltage distribution systems, including substations, switchgear, and standby generation systems
Perform electrical calculations and power system analyses using SKM Power Tools, ETAP or similar software
Design lighting, controls, and similar low-voltage systems
Develop electrical plans and specifications for complex projects (e.g., federal, water/wastewater, industrial, transportation)
Conduct site investigations and coordinate with clients, utilities, and code officials
Review shop drawings and support construction services
Prepare cost estimates using RS Means or similar tools
Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 820, and other relevant codes and standards
Supervise and mentor junior staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Define project scope, schedules, budgets, and objectives using lessons learned
Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies
Manage client billing, subcontractor/vendor payments, and ensure profitability
Develop and implement project resource plans, including staffing and procurement
Provide coaching and performance feedback to project staff
Build and maintain strong client relationships through quality project execution
Identify opportunities for change orders and repeat business

10 years of related experience.

The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
**Preferred Qualifications:**

Basic Requirements:

You are attending and currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
You have successfully completed at least 1 engineering specific course.

You are available to start the internship program either mid-May or mid-June 2026.

Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

B. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
GS-11: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skill, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience: Examples of this experience includes: Modeling and simulation professional theories, concepts, principles, techniques, and practices of computer engineering, electronicsengineering and/or computer science.

Design unique custom electrical power distribution systems (120/240 AC & 12/24/48 DC), layouts and/or schematics based on information from customer specifications, Mechanical Design Engineering drawings and other sources which require:
o Use of standard drawing templates.
o An electronic database to track components, available wire, etc.
o Calculations to track loads on each wire for correct sizing of generators, shore power which includes balancing loads to each line.
o Correctly labeling and sizing all wires, fuses, breakers, loads, etc.
o Program spreadsheets to generate Bill of Materials for electrical components.
o Communication with Mechanical Engineers to identify and resolve differences between Electrical drawings, Mechanical drawings, and client requirements.
Research, read, and understand outside standards such as IEEE, MIL, NEC, etc.
Create, implement, supervise, and document tests verifying designs meet customer requirements.
Complete all analyses, documentation, and oversee schematics required for Production within established time frames as agreed upon by the Operations team.
Communicate with other Engineers, Project Management, Production Leads to identify and implement improvement opportunities at the project level as well as a company level.
Communicate with vendors and clients to troubleshoot designs, get information on new designs, and obtain specifications of components.
Assist Sales and Marketing by creating Electrical load calculations that can be used in proposals to customers.
Work independently, inspect work, and ensure it meets Nomad quality standards.
Track and record work hours for each specific project daily.

Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

B. Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
GS-11: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skill, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience: Examples of this experience includes: Modeling and simulation professional theories, concepts, principles, techniques, and practices of computer engineering, electronicsengineering and/or computer science.
GS-12: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skill, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience: Examples of this experience includes: Leading and/or performing engineering work involving electronic circuits, circuit elements and equipment systems; applying a number of diverse electronicsengineering practices, techniques and processes to identify and resolve complex engineering issues; supporting the planning, testing and troubleshooting of electronicsengineering systems or devices; and, developing computer aided engineering analysis and tools in support of planning and designing applications.
GS-13: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skill, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience: Examples of this experience includes supporting the planning, execution, and instrumentation of electronicsengineering tests; providing engineering support for tests, assessments, experiments and system evaluations; coordinating and directing the activities of engineers in the operation and maintenance of advanced hardware and facilities assessing the vulnerability of systems and subsystems; and developing analytical methods, tools, standards, and models and simulations used in electronicsengineering and test planning.
GS-14: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skill, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
* Knowledge of electronicsengineering concepts, principles, methods, techniques, and standard engineering practices to perform moderately difficult or relatively limited phases of a larger and more complex installation, operations, and maintenance engineering project.
* Knowledge of computer aided design and drafting (CADD) programs to perform design and drafting assignments, as well as other computer applications used in support of plans, analysis, and project reports.
* Skill in applying the principles, concepts, and practices of the occupation sufficient to perform limited assignments in the field of electronicsengineering.
* Ability to communicate factual and procedural information clearly, orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). The Principal Power ElectronicsEngineer will manage and lead the collaboration with Engineering and Operations teams globally to design, build and qualify innovative power delivery solutions using novel techniques. You will have responsibility for topology selection, component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, test plan development and execution of power electronics circuitry.
You'll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:
Lead a small to medium size team of electricalengineers in the designing, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of power electronics for a variety of projects.
Simulate, design, and validate various AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC topologies.
Independently write test requests to the Milwaukee Test Laboratory based on established standard test procedures and prior examples.
Create design documents, theory of operation schematic, layout, bill of materials, test plan and test report.
Interact with suppliers to develop part/product specifications meeting performance requirements while falling within process capabilities.
Mentor and coach the team in engineering best practices including task management, Gantt charts, root cause analysis, circuit / PCB design, and PCBA manufacturing.
Champion technology investigations including system requirements, architecture definitions, and reusability strategies.
Establish and maintain a strong awareness and database of competitive offerings, product strategies, and business climate to shape a best-in-class roadmap.
Quickly, effectively, and candidly frame-up and escalate business risks/opportunities to senior leadership.
Effectively communicate and motivate up, down and across the organization to a diverse range of technical and non-technical team members.
Drive urgency in project schedules and accountability for establishing and achieving key project metrics that meet the organization's needs.
