Project Overview:
Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will maintain the field welding program and provide welding engineering support, technical knowledge, and assistance. You will coordinate the rod room and attendants, the welding test lab, and maintain welder qualifications and stamps. Your work will ensure that workmanship and materials conform with project requirements and contribute to the welding program credibility. #LI-TH1
Major Responsibilities:
Maintains Bechtel Field Welding program for all welding operations.
Provides technical assistance to field superintendents and crafts.
Provides welding engineering support to ensure construction meets all code, specifications, and Bechtel procedures.
Provides technical knowledge for ASME, API, and AWS or other code designed and fabricated items.
Supports managing pre- and post-weld heat treatment program whether self- performed by Bechtel or subcontracted.
Coordinates the rod room and rod room attendants to ensure all weld filler materials are controlled and meet Bechtel and Code requirements.
Coordinates the welding test lab to ensure high quality welders are being tested and hired.
Works with craft to maintain welding documentation and ensure the credibility/accountability of the Welding Program.
Coordinates the maintenance of welder qualifications and welder stamps.
Assists in the field inspections of welding work to ensure workmanship and materials are in conformance with project requirements.
Education and Experience Requirements:
* Requires a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience
* Must have the ability to take and pass Bechtel's Level II VT e
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience
Having an understanding of piping fabrication, piping design drawings and specifications is a definite asset
Background in welding and with experience with the standard welding processes utilized (SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, GMAW).
Must have the ability to take and pass Bechtel's Level II NDE for Visual Examinations
Must have knowledge and understanding of general welding standards, welder qualification and training, preheat / post weld heat treatment, and the Welding & NDE documentation requirements.
Must be knowledgeable in ASME B31.3, Section IX, AWS D1.1 and other applicable codes and standards.
Displays effective communications skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner
Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications
TEAMWorks and WITS database experience is desirable
Additional Information:
Work requires the physical ability to conduct field inspections including but not limited to: extensive walking in and around a construction site often in high heat and high humidity conditions, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces, and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).

Principal Accountabilities:

Project Overview:
Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.
Job Summary:
The Welding Field Engineer will report to the Lead Welding Field Engineer. This individual is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of the site welding program and direct hire work activities for both Non-Destruct Exam (NDE) and Pre/Post-Welding Heat Treat (PWHT). You will manage, inspect, and monitor the welding test lab, the rod room, the weld heat treatment program, and the laboratory quality plan. Your technical advice will help ensure defects, behaviors, and other issues are rectified prior to final inspection. #LI-BH1
Major Responsibilities:
Support inspection activities using ITP and engineering drawings.
Provide specialized welding & inspection support for construction to ensure construction meets all code and Bechtel procedures including those found in the welding control manual.
Help manage the issue of weld filler materials for welders to meet Bechtel and Code requirements.
Help plan NDE activities of welding and coordinate with construction and Bechtel LFWE to support the overall construction schedule.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products and processes, including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.
Monitor sites and procedures to confirm that all operations are in compliance with corporate regulations.
Plan, develop, coordinate and direct assigned engineering projects to a successful completion
Conduct assessment of or respond to electrical process improvement requests.
Collect data resulting from investigations and perform / obtain analyses up-date. Provide report with recommendations and conclusions.
Ensure production crew and management has adequate training in regards to assigned projected and equipment knows and follows policies and procedures of the company shares information that would benefit of the members of the team and finds ways to improve the delivery of service to our customers.
Basic qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in ElectricalEngineering from an accredited college or university
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment
