The Mission Systems Environmental Effects Engineering team at Collins Aerospace is looking for a Electrical Engineer to assist our staff. Our team performs Electromagnetic Compatibility/Interference (EMC/EMI) and Power Input qualification testing of Company products and programs to various military and commercial industry standards; particularly MIL-STD-461 and DO-160. This position will be responsible to support all mechanical aspects of the specific project below:
Conductive plastics and elastomers have been part of the aerospace industry for decades in the form of gaskets, absorbers, and chassis shields. Most manufacturing solutions utilize injection molded techniques. This prevents these materials from being part of the EMI troubleshooting process. Customization is required with long lead times for conductive plastics to be part of a high-intensity, schedule-conscious EMI troubleshooting effort.
Established EMI Troubleshooting techniques have a long history of working well within certain boundaries. This project seeks to open additional options for design teams when troubleshooting failures in a lab environment. Development teams can then prototype their shielding and gasket designs before approaching a vendor for a formal design.
This project is relevant now due to advances in material properties where conductive composite filaments are available from multiple vendors. Additionally, advances in printing and mixing technologies all composite filaments to be easily printed and extruded in-house. Finally, the production quality of modern printers has leapt forward over the past few years allowing for cost reduction and ease of use of printing technology.
What You Will Do:
Serve project as a focal point for all EMI assessment and test activities including:
Test planning and experiment preparation
Documentation support including
Preparation and review of test plans, procedures, and reports
Generate repeatable test procedures and physical test setups with test equipment and appropriate data recording
Validation of all laboratory test setups to ensure compliance with test procedures
Analysis and interpretation of results
Provide general laboratory support
When available, learn about general laboratory activities and other support test efforts

Process Control / Technical Service Engineers can work on a wide array of projects in support of the process control systems installed throughout the refinery and products movements areas. The process control systems in the refinery provide real-time control and data acquisition functions in support of operating the refinery process and electrical equipment. What You Will Be Doing
