Salary Transparency
The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $85,000 and is bonus eligible. Akkodis is seeking an I&C Design Engineer for a DIRECT HIRE position in the Katy, TX area. The desired candidate will have 5+ years of previous experience in CAD design for electrical instrument and controls. The I&C Engineer will be responsible for the design/development of industrial control systems including SCADA, PLC, and HMI systems. A strong expertise in Revit and AutoCAD is required. This is an excellent opportunity to support an exciting company in the electricalengineering industry.
***Remote 1 day/week, and off every other Friday***
Responsibilities:
Site assessment and determination of needed instrumentation/SCADA upgrades
Review of existing project documents - P&ID, system architecture, electrical drawings
Coordination with clients on specific needs
Document findings - Write assessment or report of existing conditions and recommendations
Design/development of project drawings, including P&ID, system architecture, loop diagrams, installation details
Create project specifications, including instrumentation, networking, control narrative strategies, software and hardware requirements for SCADA, PLC, and HMI systems
Quality Control/Quality Assurance of project documents
Attend/Conduct project meetings with client
Review and comment on project submittals
Coordination with ElectricalEngineering Department
Required Skills:
Bachelors Degree in an Engineering related field is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant drafting experience is required.
MUST HAVE electrical design experience for industrial systems like water/wastewater, oil/gas, etc.
Must have experience designing SCADA, PLC, and HMI systems.
Strong background in both AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in Texas is preferred.
Experienced in the design of construction documents.
Write Technical Memoranda based on site assessment.
Drawing/PDF markups.
Design relay schematics (motor control).
PLC and SCADA HMI development and creation of PLC I/O lists
Wide Area Network (WAN) design, including radio and cellular communications
Fiber optic cable specification
Control panel design
VFD design/interface
Physical and cybersecurity assessment and design preferred.

Reliability Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineers troubleshoot Electrical & Instrumentation issues at the refinery. As a reliability intern, you will help analyze failures of equipment, develop solutions for recurring equipment difficulties, submit Project Request Forms (PRF's) to implement solutions, and understand equipment maintenance strategies. There will be opportunities to use electrical analysis software to solve coordination issues and run Arc Flash studies for the power system, as well as learning and understanding about how our critical Refinery Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) are applied.
Process Control / Technical Service Engineers can work on a wide array of projects in support of the process control systems installed throughout the refinery and products movements areas. The process control systems in the refinery provide real-time control and data acquisition functions in support of operating the refinery process and electrical equipment. Typical college co-op assignments include the following: troubleshooting system power supply problems, control system programming, hardware and software lifecycle replacement projects, installing and troubleshooting communication networks and monitoring control system performance metrics.

Electrical engineer internship job in Longview, TX
Responsible for supporting the design of safe and efficient electrical/control products.
Essential Responsibilities/Activities:
Develops new or modifies current electrical diagrams and creates new electrical / controls system designs for prototypes and determines the specifications for each component.
Reads schematics for designs and makes change recommendations.
Collaborates with electrical and mechanical designers / engineers to ensure that the electrical system designs integrate seamlessly with other systems.
Provides design guidance and oversight to assigned electrical designers for specific projects enabling them to release optimized designs.
Establishes procedures for testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
Tests and troubleshoots electrical/controls products to ensure they are functioning properly and are safe for use.
Works with engineering and operations to implement engineering change notices (ECN).
Provides support to production team during prototypes and initial production to facilitate seamless product and feature releases.
Coordinates with engineering and others to deviate/approve part shortages and to build test fixtures and prototypes.
Creates cost estimates for the electrical/controls products including cost of material, labor, and equipment.
Develop bill of materials and translation documents related to new or changed designs.
Electrical AutoCAD Modeling and simulations.
Prepares product documentation, operating instructions, and reviews related technical literature.
Supports or develops ePlan programs for units.
Supports / leads DFMEAs
Supports PFMEAs
Supports CFD, FEA, and Seismic evaluations / testing.
Stays up to date with local and national electrical codes and regulations to ensure that designs meet safety standards including but not limited to UL, CE, NEC, IBC, and NFPA
Maintains and builds professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, or participating in professional societies.
Travels when necessary.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's in electricalengineering or electricalengineering technology
5 years industry experience or an associate degree and 10 years industry experience.
