Joining a team in our Breast & Skeletal Health you will be responsible for preventative maintenance, repairs and servicing of our innovative medical imaging and interventional products. As a Hologic FSE, you travel to our customer sites to ensure our products are calibrated and optimized for high performance. You will be able to build relationships with our customers, putting them at ease that you are there to investigate and solve any technical issues. Summary Of Duties And Responsibilities Responsible for the installation and service of Hologic products (mammography, digital mammography, bone densitometry, and mini c-arms) which include electrical, mechanical and software components. Establish and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction with Hologic's products, support and service. Complete all remedial service actions, standard system checks, and required hardware and software upgrades in accordance with approved policies and procedures. Assist other Field Engineers as necessary. Maintain a good customer service reputation by complying with all regulatory requirements and all aspects of DQSM. Complete and submit all required paperwork on time and accurately. Train customers on the basic operation and use of Hologic products. Provide feedback to the District Manager concerning product performance anomalies encountered in the field, and make recommendations for service improvements. Provide support at conventions, trade shows and customer trials. Provide pre and post sales support by maintaining close working relationships with sales and customers to ensure expectations are met and equipment installations are handled as planned. Manage inventory, keep accurate records, and return unused and failed parts promptly. Promote service contract offerings and assist the local Service Sales Specialist in selling service agreements to customers within your assigned territory. Manage the assigned territory in an organized fashion. Perform PM's on time, provide expeditious on-site response and minimize equipment downtime. Respond to customer inquiries in written form (with managerial approval), in person, or via telephone as needed. Escalate customer issues and unresolved product problems to service management in a comprehensive and timely manner. Qualifications Must be a self-starter, able to travel and work independently with minimal supervision. Must be capable of multi-tasking, setting priorities and scheduling work activities. Ability to resolve problems, think analytically and communicate professionally in high pressure, time sensitive, customer environments. Willing to work flexible hours and overtime on short notice. Position requires the ability to be “on call” after normal working hours. Depending on location, position may require frequent overnight travel. Must have reliable transportation, possess a valid driver's license, and carry adequate auto insurance. High degree of mechanical aptitude. Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal are required Education Associate's Degree or equivalent in electronics, computer science or related technical discipline is required. Experience 2-4 years experience in a field service position working with customers to resolve problems related to x-ray, digital imaging or related medical equipment preferred. Experience designing, installing, or maintaining computer networks highly desirable. Specialized Knowledge Strong computer literacy. Must be proficient with DOS and Windows, certified training and/or working knowledge of UNIX /NT/Solaris or other software operating systems preferred. The annualized base salary range for this role is $63,900 to $100,000 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand. POSITION PURPOSE The Controls Service Technician role primarily involves starting up, trouble shooting and repairing complex controls on HVAC equipment consisting of primarily, but not limited to, Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems, dedicated outside air units, hot water boilers, computer room units, water source heat pumps, VAVs, packaged rooftops and split DX units. A service technician is also expected to meet with end-users monthly as part of service contracts to maintain their system and assist with their needs. This position in based out of Harahan and requires out of state travel, up to 5% of the time. Controls Service Technician Job Skills: Familiarity with instruments and the ability to acquire information such as temperature, humidity, static pressure, voltage, amperage, air flow, etc. Understanding of control systems including wiring, thermostats, and end devices. Perform troubleshooting steps of both IP and Serial Communication Protocols Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with customers and co-workers. Able to read wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment. Effectively present training material to owners and contractors in a classroom environment. Documents service and installation activities by completing work orders for each job, maintenance checklist and daily time sheets. Maintains rapport with customers by addressing complaints and identifying solutions. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with established policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Above average computer skills. Ability to learn and use proprietary software needed to start-up, configure or trouble shoot HVAC equipment. Independently manages daily business needs by identifying parts to order for repairs and determines the urgency of the requirement. Keeps current on products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of HVAC systems and components. Flexibility to work outside normal work hours, as required. Qualifications: Associate degree or equivalent from a Technical / Trade School with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning and two (2) years related experience; or five (5) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e., Smartphone, iPad). Valid Driver's License with no major traffic violations for the previous 5 years. SALARY POTENTIAL 60,000 - $72,000 yearly range The yearly range indicated is representative of the hourly rate, including typical overtime. This range is based on a technician's experience, skills, education and training. For technicians, overtime is typically calculated on a daily basis after 8 hours worked. YOUR VALUE The person in this role will be responsible for servicing and repairing construction rental heavy equipment in the shop or in the field. YOUR CONTRIBUTION You will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on all components of heavy rental equipment including engines, power trains, hydraulics and fuel systems. You will read and interpret equipment manuals, mechanical and electrical schematics, and other specifications to determine the repair method on failed components. You will replace or repair defective components, using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment. You will assemble and install electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment using hand or power tools. You will rebuild install and align pump assemblies utilizing safe rigging methods using hand or power tools.
