Provides maintenance and technical support for Sullair products at customer field locations. Considered an expert on all Sullair rotary products and accessories. Must have broad knowledge and experience on competitive rotary products. Installs new products or enhances existing ones; may provide training and best practices for on-site customer personnel. Identifies and troubleshoots all possible malfunctions and conducts or schedules repairs. Prepare detailed service reports to document service visits, issues and troubleshooting actions. Logs and tracks maintenance activities. Work with various departments at Hitachi Global Air Power to address concerns from the field to drive issues to a timely closure. Document service visits and generate reports with action items. Support the Sullair Training Department for customers, distributors, and employees. This position will report directly to the Field Service Manager.
Duties and responsibilities:
Performs any needed service on all Sullair rotary products without supervision
Travel to field jobsites for troubleshooting, and service of Sullair and competitive rotary products
Follow standard work for pre and post service preparation (submit expense reports, prepare service reports, make travel arrangements, complete timecards)
On call as scheduled for afterhours customer support
Follow all Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures
Communicate distributor feedback to Sullair management as Voice of Customer
Drive field concerns to closure in a timely manner
Support goal of service within the Service Department of 95%
Contribute to positive Company branding by projecting a knowledgeable, professional, and customer-oriented image to customers
Perform all duties in accordance with company standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of the customer

Must be fluent in English and have a valid driver's license. Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI in the previous 5 years, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years
Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and work in industrial environments including extremes in temperature with continuous walking, reaching, bending, and kneeling
Employee will use company provided equipment and will be required to travel to attend company provided training
Employee is required to have their own tools to perform their job duties
Operate a company vehicle safely and in compliance with all traffic laws and HGAP policies
Education:

Technical Tasks:
* Maintaining the health of our global fleet of robots through daily maintenance and repair tasks. Which can include but is not limited to - diagnosing unforeseen problems, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and repairing or replacing faulty equipment (tires, electronics, motors).
* Carrying out preventive maintenance activities and upgrades on robots and infrastructure. Monitoring and servicing our internal systems, running tests and completing reports, and completing updates or improvements to existing systems as appropriate.
* Perform root cause analysis to identify the causes of faults or problems and systematically develop a solution to prevent/solve underlying issues.
Operational Tasks:
* Accurately document all tasks/partner or internal messaging related to service concerns or robot-related issues using appropriate applications/tools.
* Maintain a clean and organized hub by performing accurate spare parts inventory audits twice a week and ensuring all tools are accounted for and returned to their proper location after use.
* Work with our engineering team to identify any potential improvements regarding robot health and design.
* Assist our Operational Team and vendors/merchants by providing in-person assistance through performing weekly Merchant Preflights to understand any service-related issues, provide operational and troubleshooting assistance related to Starship-provided devices, and act as a Starship brand representative while interacting with clients.

Minimum Qualifications:

As a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will use your skills to support the Operations Maintenance Team repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will have the opportunity to install, maintain and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety: Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
Maintenance: Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) which includes belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more.
Monitoring: Create, assign, and close out work order with data including labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used. Track and store department inventory.
Support: Mentor junior technicians to grow in their roles.
Communication: Maintain positive working relationships across all of the Operations facility.
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls.
2+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
1+ years of blueprint and electrical schematic reading.
1+ years of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles.
Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project, with the ability to create and manage documents effectively.
Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus on Mechanical or Electrical field.
Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Safety standards.
Experience with robotic operation and maintenance.
Able to troubleshoot basic input and output functions.
Physical Demands:
Must have ability to reach overhead, kneel, squat, climb steps/ladders, use an aerial lift, and frequently lift a maximum of 50 lbs. of equipment.
Ability to perform tasks wearing appropriate or required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which may include but is not limited to hard hat, face mask, face shield, and composite toe shoes.
Regularly required to crouch or bend and reach to install/move equipment.
Involves movement between departments, floors, and properties to facilitate work, averaging 6 to 12 miles per day.
Work in a warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures.
Regularly required to type on a computer for 1-2 hours per day.

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
Required:

* Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times and push instrument carts ranging from 10-150 pounds at times.

* Must be a minimum of 21 years old with ability to achieve and maintain FMCSA and drivers license requirements.
