Job Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair control circuits, low voltage electrical circuits, and control loops, including level, pressure, temperature, flow, pH, and conductivity. Disassemble malfunctioning instruments, examine and test mechanics and circuitry for defects, and reassemble instruments according to manufacturer specifications. MINIMUM TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS Completion of Jump Start core classes (Math 111B, ET 131B DC for Electronics lab, ET 132B AC for Electronics lab, ET 212B Digital Logic I, ET 220B; Solid State Devices and Circuits I, and ET 228B: Data Acquisition) with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Possess a good understanding of electronics and the test equipment used to maintain and repair various electronics equipment. Other Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to qualify for and maintain a DoD Top Secret/SSBI security clearance and be adjudicated to the tier process for access to specific programs. Possess a valid State issued driver's license. Education and course work from an ABET accredited technical school with one or more courses in Math, Basic Electronics, Microwave Theory, Telecommunications, Telemetry, and or RF disciplines. Possess a current TS-SSBI Security Clearance. REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE Level II: Education and/or training from an accredited college or technical school with courses in math, basic electronics, and microwave theory or a military equivalent is required. At least 3 years of hands-on experience is required. Level III: Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college or technical school with courses in math, basic electronics, and microwave theory or CCAF military equivalent is required. JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES Working under general technical guidance, an Electronic Technician III specializes in ground-based electronic systems, communications infrastructure, and works on various types of electronic and network equipment and related devices through a combination of installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, modifying, construction, and testing Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties: Certifies assigned systems and sub-systems to ensure compliance with USAF and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) established standards and safety requirements. Determines when equipment malfunctions warrant shutdown of various systems. Acts as expert technical consultant to determine whether systems are operationally acceptable and safe within the prescribed standards and tolerances for air traffic control and air navigation.
