Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Assistant Manager the Lead Electrical Test Technician is responsible for leading a team of employees in completing electrical testing of manufactured projects. In addition, this role will complete complex electrical testing of products during the manufacturing process based on established testing procedures. What a typical day looks like: Oversees the work of assigned team employees. Addresses minor discipline problems with team members; refers more serious cases to the supervisor. Assists with the planning and preparation of training for new team members. Collaborates with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members skills and experience. Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments Partners with supervisor or engineering manager to resolve any issues that arise within department. Monitors testing status daily; gathers feedback from all test technicians. Follow AC/DC schematics and wiring diagrams to perform testing of main electrical distribution AC/DC systems for power distribution control houses and panels. Work closely with engineering and production team members to ensure accurate, efficient and timely execution of required testing work Be able to troubleshoot assembly, wiring and testing problems Performs full functional testing on various circuits including HVAC system, lighting, receptacles, fans, fire alarm systems, battery system, and meggering of cables. Perform complete testing including current/voltage injections, Hi-Potential Testing, I/O checks and circuit breaker simulation testing on Relay Panels and Switchgear. Perform Factory Acceptance Testing with customer as required. Perform customer site visits to troubleshoot and resolve any field issues that may arise. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and single line diagrams. Knowledge in testing of three phase AC and DC control circuits.
