This is 100% onsite role in DC (near Chinatown, zip code 20223). Local candidates only. This is a 12-month initial contract on W2 with the potential to extend or convert to FTE.

This position involves close supervision, detailed instructions, and constant performance checks. The technician will provide post-sale installation and maintenance support for communication products, including hardware installations, site equipment audits and customer service response in a break-fix environment.
Primary Focus: Mobile and station work associated with Conventional, SmartNet Trunking, and Paging Systems for single-site customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Programming of mobile and portable radios, and infrastructure (training provided)
Organize and pack radio kits for shipment
Data entry into MS Excel and MS Word forms, including barcode scanning
Equipment handling: Unloading/loading pallets
Pick and pack radio system parts/kits per customer specifications
Inventory management: Assist with stock take and maintain subscriber inventory accuracy

Key Responsibilities:
As an Airport Communications Technician you will work in a fast-paced Washington-Dulles location. The Airport Communications Technician plays a very significant role in providing quality service to our internal customers and will be assigned to service two-way radio communication, dispatch console, and wireless headset used by ground service agents. The Technician should have detailed knowledge of installing and maintaining land mobile radio, air to ground radio, and equipment used support them including:
· Systems and component level service and configuration of radio transmitter, receiver, antenna, transmission line, trunked radio systems, and related RF tuned equipment.
· IP networked and analog consoles, control equipment, and related apparatus.
· Apply analog and digital electronic fundamentals as they apply to land mobile radio and networked radio technologies.
Technicians work around the clock shifts, including weekends and holidays, in the outdoors in all weather conditions. Schedules are bid and awarded according to seniority.
This role is represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT). Salary increases will be coordinated according to the current IBT/United contract. Shift differentials of $.51 $.58 cents per hour for working an afternoon or evening shift respectively are paid in addition to the hourly rate. New employees are required to join the union within ninety (90) days of employment. There is an initiation fee for joining the union and subsequent monthly union dues.

+ Must have (12) Twelve months component level repair and overhaul of UHF/VHF transceiver systems or comparable education or similar experience.

The Airport Communications Technician plays a very significant role in providing quality service to our internal customers and will be assigned to service two-way radio communication, dispatch console, and wireless headset used by ground service agents. The Technician should have detailed knowledge of installing and maintaining land mobile radio, air to ground radio, and equipment used support them including:
* Systems and component level service and configuration of radio transmitter, receiver, antenna, transmission line, trunked radio systems, and related RF tuned equipment.
* IP networked and analog consoles, control equipment, and related apparatus.
* Apply analog and digital electronic fundamentals as they apply to land mobile radio and networked radio technologies.
Technicians work around the clock shifts, including weekends and holidays, in the outdoors in all weather conditions. Schedules are bid and awarded according to seniority.
This role is represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT). Salary increases will be coordinated according to the current IBT/United contract. Shift differentials of $.51 $.58 cents per hour for working an afternoon or evening shift respectively are paid in addition to the hourly rate. New employees are required to join the union within ninety (90) days of employment. There is an initiation fee for joining the union and subsequent monthly union dues.
Qualifications
What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
* Must have a valid FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL), Elements 1 and 3.
* Must have (12) Twelve months component level repair and overhaul of UHF/VHF transceiver systems or comparable education or similar experience.
* Knowledge of electrical circuits preferable for communications equipment.
* Must be at least 18 years of age
* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
* Must have computer and networking skills (Experience working with networks preferred)
