Responsible for analyzing, developing, and specifying manufacturing processes, including operational sequences, tooling, methods, equipment, and controls. Ensures processes meet quality and quantity requirements efficiently for a variety of manufactured products. What you will do: Apply Lean manufacturing principles to reduce costs, improve quality, and optimize processes. Provide technical support to manufacturing, engineering, and materials planning teams to eliminate unnecessary operations and clarify process instructions. Investigate and resolve product, equipment, and tooling issues using root cause analysis and scientific methods. Lead and execute operational excellence initiatives and other projects supporting divisional objectives. Stay current on industry trends and advancements through publications and professional affiliations; provide guidance to other departments based on expertise. Work closely with domestic and international teams, including manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and sales. We are looking for: Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc.) required. 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, engineering principles, manufacturing processes, machine shop practices, and electro-mechanical concepts preferred. Familiarity with material properties, machining characteristics, assembly processes, inspection techniques, and material flow is a plus. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Strong mathematical skills, including statistical analysis, required. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information effectively to employees, customers, and vendors. Summary: This position is responsible for electric motor applications (primarily brushless DC motors). Essential Functions of the Job: * Serve as primary technical resource for motor and motor drive topics in US, including power, torque, temperature, and efficiency. Motors are mainly single-phase and 3-phase with voltages up to 575 VAC and up to 8 KW. * Walk a new motor design/application through the verification and regulatory testing processes through to production-ready. Have a good working knowledge of FCC and UL standards applicable to motor products. * Work closely with the electrical department to test, verify, and improve motor electronics designs. * Size motors and calculate winding layouts for new fan products. * Execute and analyze results of functional tests of motors and fans, such as torque-speed and temperature rise tests, and other specialized measurements. * Maintain and operate motor test benches. * Interface with ebm-papst Germany Motor and Electronics R&D to localize product design knowledge. This position is responsible for reviewing, planning and monitoring incoming special bearing design requirements and providing technical support and assistance both internally and externally. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: Provide technical support to the Sales force in the areas of bearing design, design improvements, customer support, production support and review of new applications. Works with customers to resolve technical problems and makes technical presentations with the Sales Engineers at target accounts.
