The candidate will ideally have experience in environmental remediation/sampling, operating various remediation systems and an interest in hands-on mechanical problem-solving. Typical project work includes operating groundwater treatment systems, soil vapor extraction systems, and sub-slab depressurization systems, and various media sampling (groundwater, vapor, surface water, sediment, and soil). The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team and be able to work independently. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Remediation System Operations: * Operating various remediation systems, including: * Soil vapor extraction systems. * Sub-slab depressurization systems (both active and passive). * Groundwater pump-and-treat systems utilize technologies such as granular activated carbon, zeolite, particle filtration, and air striping with off-gas treatment. Fieldwork & Sampling * Conducting routine fieldwork, such as: * Groundwater, soil, or air sampling under the close supervision of field task leaders. * Performing soil, groundwater, surface water, waste, sediment, air, and vapor sampling. * Using field tablets and computers to efficiently access, track, and record environmental data. System Monitoring & Maintenance: * Taking and passing operator exam(s) to demonstrate understanding of system operations and maintenance. * Remotely monitoring system performance during off-site hours, including: * At least one evening check and one check per weekend day. * Responding to specific alarm conditions outside of standard working hours. * Performing various operation and maintenance (O&M) tasks and inspections of environmental remediation systems involving the extraction of of chlorinated volatile organic compound, impacted vapor, soil, and groundwater. * Documenting all field activities and notes. * Performing subcontractor oversight. * Communicating effectively with the project team. * Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. * Working within defined scopes, schedules, and budgets while producing quality work.
