The Multi-Family Plumbing Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, timely, and competitive plumbing estimates for Villara's multi-family residential projects. This role plays a key part in securing new work and supporting our mission to deliver high-quality, cost-effective plumbing systems. The Estimator reviews plans, develops detailed takeoffs, and collaborates closely with Villara's operations, purchasing, and field leadership to ensure our bids reflect realistic installation methods and align with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Review and interpret plumbing plans, specifications, fixture schedules, and engineering documents for multi-family projects.
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for all plumbing materials, fixtures, equipment, and labor.
Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and final plumbing estimates based on available project information.
Identify scope gaps, design conflicts, value-engineering options, and constructability issues specific to Villara's installation methods.
Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure updated material pricing, fixture selections, and vendor quotes.
Solicit, qualify, and compare subcontractor pricing when needed.
Prepare clear scope narratives, proposal letters, bid clarifications, and inclusions/exclusions.
Attend pre-bid meetings, job walks, and internal kickoff meetings as required.
Support project handoff to Operations with organized takeoffs, labor breakdowns, and scope summaries.
Maintain knowledge of code requirements, jurisdictional practices, and Villara plumbing standards.
Track bid calendars, addendums, drawing revisions, and workflow within the estimating department.
Build and maintain positive relationships with GC partners, developers, vendors, and Villara field teams.
Required Qualifications
Plumbing estimating experience, preferably in multi-family or large-scale residential construction.
Strong understanding of plumbing systems, materials, installation practices, and sequence of work.
Ability to read and interpret architectural, plumbing, civil, and mechanical drawings.
Proficiency with estimating tools such as Bluebeam, Quotesoft, and Excel.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Villara standard materials, fixture lines, and installation methods.
Experience in wood-frame, podium, and mixed-use multi-family construction.
