Position Description
Reporting to the Estimating Manager, the Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with mass timber construction projects, ensuring that our clients receive competitive and transparent pricing while maintaining our commitment to sustainability and quality.
This position will be based out of our Spokane Valley facility.
Responsibilities
* Perform Mass Timber and accessories take-offs using 2D (Bluebeam) or 3D (cadwork/Revit) software technologies.
* Analyze project requirements, including structural and architectural details, and determine the quantity and type of mass timber materials needed.
* Prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and other project related expenses.
* Create detailed bid proposals for clients, including clear breakdowns of cost components and explanations of the estimate.
* Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes and pricing for specialized mass timber components or services.
* Collaborate with the project team to ensure alignment between the estimated costs and the project's scope and objectives.
* Work closely with the sales team and clients to address cost related inquiries and provide insight into budgeting and cost control.
* Conduct cost analysis on value engineering options provided by the Engineering team.
* Stay up to date with industry trends, pricing, and regulations related to mass timber construction.
* Document change orders comprehensively and provide clear notifications to the sales and coordination teams.
* Learn and understand manufacturing processes and practical applications of Mercer Mass Timber products, CrossLam CLT and Glulam beams/columns, including design properties, product mix, and accessory materials.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
* Completed post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, Wood Processing, or related discipline.
* Minimum 2-3 years of experience in estimating.
* Knowledge of mass timber materials, construction methods, and related technologies.
* Knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and addenda process.
* Proficiency in MS Excel.
* Mathematical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

The Estimator's primary responsibility and accountability is to provide an exceptional and successful customer experience while creating estimates, coordinating repair needs for customers including all communication, informing and updating customers and insurance companies throughout the repair process. The Estimator accurately assesses the damage of vehicles and documents needed repairs and parts replacement on the damage appraisal. The Estimator plays a pivotal role in the success of the customer's experience by ensuring they are working in alignment with all team members in achieving the repair facility's KPIs.
Key Job Responsibilities
Role and Requirements
Ensure every customer interaction is documented, updated efficiently and accurately with pertinent details
Provide Customer with accurate and timely information, guiding them through the repair process and ensuring that they receive excellent customer service
Ensure compliance with all insurance client requirements, processes and metrics
Ensure compliance with all WOW Operating Way's regarding customer drop-offs, repair planning, customer communication, and delivery
Communicate all customer requests and needs to appropriate team members
Provides positive energy when greeting customers in person and on the phone
Understanding of all required Insurance programs and procedures
Participate in daily “production walks” with the Management Team, as required
Support all team members when required
Participate in monthly Health & Safety and staff meeting (if required)
Attend training, information sessions and workshops recommended by Store Manager
Maintain the store's KPI's by maximizing role performance
Uphold the company's Core Values : Honesty, Integrity & Respect
Education and/or Experience Required
Knowledge of Repairs and OE Guidelines
High School Diploma or equivalent
Awareness of where to look for answers
Basic Computer Skills
Compliance for DRP's Minimum of 1-year experience
Must be willing to complete I-CAR Training
Valid Driver's License

Compensation Details:
Commissions for this position are calculated based on location and revenue metrics, sales and individual performance, subject to the terms of the plan.
Estimated $60,000 - $130,000 / Year
In the event that total compensation in a pay period is less than minimum wage, clocked hours will be calculated with a guarantee of applicable local or state minimum wage, whichever is greater.

Primary Purpose
The Estimator is responsible for estimating all qualified projects, clearing up any questions on the design contract drawings, giving the proper OSR the correct information to bid for these projects competitively, and increasing our chances on landing more purchase orders with customers while increasing our market share in the industry. This position will work very closely with our Outside Sales Representatives.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
* Estimate all qualified opportunities; provide appropriate information (estimate, specifications, etc.) to the respective Deck OSR for pricing and issuance of quotation.
* Review construction documents, analyze and interpret job specifications along with contract drawings to determine proper product applications and issue RFI's to designers prior to bid
* Understand ASC Deck product literature and installation. Direct others on appropriate use for specific applications. Interact with customers, installers, end users, designers, CSR's, PM's and Sales.
* Be proficient in all product offerings, capabilities and operational procedures.
* Understand customer needs and requirements.
* Work with the customer service, project managers and sales department to ensure quality customer service and satisfaction.
* Maintain quote/estimate records in conjunction with the respective Deck OSR for accurate record keeping and follow-up. Maintain quote/estimate log for accurate record keeping including wins/losses
* Track communication and document flow with software tools to ensure customer quotes are timely and accurate.
* Meet or exceed assigned KPI's and goals of the position and Deck Division
Education & Experience Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelor's degree in project management or related field
In lieu of degree, combination of education and experience
3+ years of experience in Estimating, Project Management, or related discipline
Experience with Auto CAD, Blue Beam, estimating software programs, MS Teams, cloud-based file transfer programs.
Preferred:
5+ years of experience in Estimating, Project Management, or related discipline.
Construction management or construction related work experience ideal and/or equivalent combination of education and training in building construction with an understanding of installation techniques and terminology.

Salary Range: This position's estimated annual base salary is $ 68,000 - $85,400. Actual base salary will be dependent on an individual's skills, qualifications, and experience. This role is eligible for a targeted bonus of 15%, 401k Savings plan, Healthcare (medical, dental and vision), and other generous rewards.
