Carbro is a State/Federal Contractor seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to support our procurement department in securing infrastructure Projects across multiple sectors. The Estimator will assist in preparation of accurate, competitive, and timely estimates for bids to Local, State and Federal Owner's completing major Projects. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support & Assist the Estimating Department in obtaining and bidding new civil construction projects including complete bid preparation and submission
Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for materials, to ensure accuracy and cost-effectiveness.
Solicit and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
Thoroughly review and analyze bid documents, specifications, and drawings to identify risks and opportunities for project success.
Local travel to projects for site visits.
Perform additional related duties as needed to support preconstruction efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Bachelors' Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Management/Technology or closely related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estimating, specifically in underground utilities, civil and/or infrastructure projects.
Experience with public works projects is a plus.
Ability to read plans and perform takeoffs.
Experience with estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid) is a plus.
Strong knowledge of construction costs, engineering principles, and industry standards.
Advanced Skills with MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and adaptable to shifting project demands.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

About the Role
We're looking for an Estimator who can take full ownership of the bid process-from reviewing bid invitations to completing takeoffs, assembling proposals, and communicating with General Contractors.
