Position Summary:
As a Fabricator at Schwing America, you'll play a key role in crafting steel and aluminum parts from detailed drawings using a variety of tools and equipment. If you thrive in a hands-on environment and take pride in producing quality work, we want to hear from you.
Work Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM - four 10-hour shifts
Key Responsibilities:
Fabricate steel and aluminum components based on engineering drawings
Operate and maintain equipment such as brakes, saws, radial drills, punch presses, and hand tools
Set up and run saws and drills at proper speeds and feeds
Program miters using the band saw
Operate press brake with correct dies and determine bend lines/tooling using bend allowances
Use grinders to deburr flame-cut parts
Safely move materials and parts using forklifts and overhead cranes
Operate barcode scanner/computer (SAP) to track labor time and pick materials
Inspect completed units to ensure they meet quality and dimensional specifications
Handle and dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with company guidelines
Support maintenance and troubleshooting efforts as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years of experience using fabrication equipment
Proficient in using saws, brakes, punch presses, drills, and hand tools
Strong understanding of geometric measurements and fabrication math
Familiarity with sheet metal, tubing, piping, and structural shapes (angle, channels, bar, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and instructions
Skilled in using material handling equipment, including forklifts and overhead cranes (2+ years preferred)
Computer literacy for referencing work instructions and tracking labor
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
Work is performed 100% on the plant floor

Welder - Level I
Ability to MIG or TIG weld, flat and horizontal position
Ability to load and unload a robotic welder.
Read and understand part drawing and engineering prints.

Inspect parts as directed by the job inspection level.
Follows start of JOB and SHIFT inspections
Follows in process inspection requirements and documents to policy and procedures.

Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The primary objective of the Plastic Welder position is to fabricate plastic assemblies according to print specifications in a timely manner to meet customer requirements and the production schedule. This includes fabricating standard parts, as well as custom parts, building complete products, and inspecting the work performed to meet internal and external requirements.
JOB DUTIES:
Fabricate plastic piece parts, turntables, cabinets, and fusion assemblies, and perform solvent welding and other tasks as assigned
Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics to determine fabrication requirements
Select and prepare plastic materials for welding, ensuring they are clean and free from defects
Operate hand and power tools, such as grinders and cutters, to shape and trim plastic components as required
Inspect components to ensure they meet quality standards and make any necessary adjustments
Perform secondary machining operations as required
Help to ensure the products we manufacture meet or exceed customer quality expectations
Ensure adherence to production schedules to ensure on-time deliveries, working closely with production scheduler
Take the initiative to identify and implement improvements to our processes along with the products we deliver
Follow all safety procedures, along with 5S standards
Participate as an active team member and be willing to cross-train as required (i.e. machining and assembly areas)
Train and assist others as required
Adhere to and follow all Company policies

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:

As a Welder 2 , you will:
Perform the following GMAW welds - butt - V - single bevel and fillet welds on carbon steel
Produce welds that pass visual inspection
Can perform necessary repairs that pass adhere to MMC Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and CWI inspection requirements
Demonstrates the ability to weld the above weld joints with either .045 and/or .062 diameter wires
Read and understand Millerbernd's WPS's - select appropriate wire and shielding gas and weld within WPS weld parameters
Proficient in print reading and understands weld symbols and welding gauges
Can perform welds using following wire - solid - flux core and metal core as needed.
Can weld carbon, stainless steel as needed
Perform carbon arc gouging and recognize when any and all defects have been removed
Layout and tack to specifications
Use grinder or other appropriate tools to clean, smooth out, grind or finish parts as needed
Use various machines to fabricate, build, and design products.
Monitor the production board and internal paperwork to perform tasks in the designated sequence
Accurately label all parts for routing to next operation
Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required
Enter job data in production tracking system
Use crane, hoist, forklift or other material handling equipment to transport materials and product into and out of the work area as required
Must be AWS GMAW certified
Welders employed with Millerbernd will have the opportunity to complete all weld certification requirements including AWS certification within 14 days of employment - up to 3 attempts
Welders employed with Circular Products-Sauk Rapids location are required to obtain and maintain ASME certification requirements
Ensure use of safe work procedures and wear all required PPE
Perform work at the appropriate pace to maintain quality and productivity requirements
Role Qualifications as a Welder 2 :
Preferred candidates will have 3 years' experience in metal fabrication/welding experience
Successful completion of internal welding test is mandatory.
Proficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, and weld symbols
Ability to operate hoists, cranes, and other powered industrial vehicles as needed
Ability to operate various power and hand tools
Experience in use of weld positioners, turners, fixtures and equipment
