    Adjunct Faculty Liberal Arts Department The Cleveland Institute of Art seeks qualified applicants for Adjunct Faculty positions in Liberal Arts to teach the course AH 150 Critical Issues in Visual Culture. This reading- and discussion-based course introduces first-year students to critical theories and methods of analysis for interpreting modern and contemporary art, media, and culture. We welcome applicants with backgrounds in fields including art history, media studies, comparative literature, architecture, design and design history, literary studies, communications, and other fields that foreground relevant critical theory. Minimum qualifications include a master's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience. Adjunct faculty are not eligible for benefits. Adjunct faculty are limited to a maximum of four teaching assignments per academic year. In-person teaching is required for this course. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Locally, the faculty member will begin to contribute service in years 3 and beyond by participating on departmental, medical school and/or university committees. These faculty will continue their research programs, continue pursuit of grant funding, and develop new collaborations with existing CWRU faculty. Associate level faculty will expand their existing national and international research and service activities and take on leadership roles in departmental activities and committees.
