Dr. Jarvis is Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Global Science & Technology, Inc., where she manages the day-to-day operations of the company with more than 200 IT professionals, engineers, and scientists. She has been an integral part of the design, development, and implementation of several enterprise data systems for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), including NASA’s Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS), the NASA Headquarters grants management system (NASA Solicitation and Proposal Integrated Review and Evaluation System [NSPIRES]), and, most recently, the NOAA Comprehensive Large Array-data Stewardship System (CLASS).

Dr. Jarvis started her career with a NASA grant that allowed her to apply a Markov model to geospatial and satellite data to assess land changes over time. She became the project manager for NASA’s EOSDIS as part of the Hughes Team, and then became Director of Operations for Information Dynamics, Inc., where she managed the day-to-day operations of a 500+ person information systems development company. Dr. Jarvis joined Global Science & Technology, Inc. in 1998 as Director of Technical programs, and served as Vice President from 2002-201, prior to being appointed COO. Dr. Jarvis holds a PhD and MS in Quantitative Ecology from The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA; and a BS in Environmental Planning and Management from the University of California, Davis, CA.
