Qualified Candidates:
Board certification in pediatric cardiology
Must see pediatric cardiology patients in an outpatient setting, as well as see consults and read transthoracic echocardiograms from one or more of our affiliate hospitals in San Antonio, Texas
Additional experience in inpatient and outpatient cardiology is desired
The primary responsibility will be seeing pediatric cardiology outpatients in one or more of our outreach clinics in and around the San Antonio metroplex.

Position Overview:
As a Dean at Galen College of Nursing, you will be expected to provide accountable leadership for the academic programs, community and hospital partnerships, and serves as an integral member of the College and Campus management team. Position Requirements:
Education: Graduate Degree in Nursing required; Doctorate Degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
Experience: Five (5) years of progressive, senior-level experience in higher education preferred; demonstrated excellence in teaching and clinical practice experience in nursing required. Demonstrated success in development of community relationships; experience in planning and budgeting; excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a record of professional involvement as evidenced in CV.
Special Qualifications: CNE or CNEcl certification preferred.
Licensure: Per State Board of Nursing Requirements
Physical/Mental Demands and Work Environment: Position requires critical thinking, reading, planning, preparing, evaluating, and decision making. Physical demands in classroom and office are minimal and considered sedentary work with occasional lifting and/or carrying such articles as records, files, and books (10 pounds maximum). Operation of standard office equipment such as phone, computer, classroom projector, Scantron, and printer/scanner, occurs on a frequent basis. Physical demands in the clinical area may include lifting, pulling, pushing, kneeling, stooping, crouching and bending or any other related activity.

Position Overview:

**What qualifications you will need:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Child Life, Child Development, Child and Family studies or related field.

+ Completion of a Child Life internship from an accredited Child Life program.
+ Minimum 2 years clinical experience as a Certified Child Life Specialist preferred.
+ Must obtain Certification by the Child Life Council within 18 months of hire date.

Position Overview:
As a Campus Registrar at Galen College of Nursing, you are responsible to plan, organize, and supervise the development and operations of the Academic Records area for an assigned campus. The Campus Registrar provides consistent, friendly support to the students, faculty and staff and assists with the maintenance of academic records and enforces policies and follows established procedures of the College.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential Duties
1. Provide quality student service which says to students, "I Care" and demonstrates the College's commitment to thoughtful, equitable treatment of all students in the areas of registration and academic records, and to insure the confidentiality and accuracy of student records.
a. Select, train, evaluate, schedule, and supervise campus Academic Records staff to fulfill department goals and work objectives and assure the delivery of consistent, friendly support to students, faculty and staff.
b. Assure the integrity, security, and accuracy of student academic records, maintaining accurate student records as it pertains to student statuses, graduation dates, grades, attendance and student disciplinary actions or advisement.
c. Verify that students have met all enrollment/admission requirements inclusive of background checks and meeting admission test thresholds.
d. Process Graduate records to facilitate inclusion in graduation ceremony/program and to assure students ability to sit for NCLEX with the state boards of nursing.
e. Provide oversight for processing all readmission students.
f. Provide timely notification to students of changes to their status with the college - probation, dismissals, etc.
g. Coordinate work and assist other functional campus teams to meet needs of students.
h. Contact and/or meet with students on a routine basis regarding attendance, performance and progression in the program; documenting all student interactions in CampusVue.
i. Provide support and assistance to all students including:
i. Initial intake of students, making sure student understands and agrees with transfer credit awarded.
ii. Registration Assistance including verifying all pre-requisite/co-requisite rules are met.
iii. Processing waitlists as space permits.
iv. Registering students who are repeating. v. Assist students with all questions and issues.
vi. Assist students with schedule adjustments during Add/Drop week or at other times in the term as needed (advising student to impact of choices being made - completion and financial aid). vii. Assist students with ordering of uniforms.
viii. Monitor clinical compliance, contacting students who are non-compliant and working with them to get all required documentation in hand so they can participate in clinical courses.
ix. Track all site specific clinical requirements that the students may have to meet to make sure they are ready for classes.
x. Provide student transcripts and verifications for students wishing to pick these up at the campus.
2. Provide professional assistance and support to the Academic Leadership of the campus.
a. Provide reports and analysis relative to student enrollment, registration, attendance, grades and other information that they might require from Academic Records in the course of performing their duties.
b. Coordinate work with the Student Success personnel to assure that students are receiving the assistance and resources needed to be successful.
c. Assist as needed with budget planning at the campus by providing information on student enrollment relative to performance in classes, retention and completion.
d. Relay information, comments/complaints received from the students so the campus may address situations as they arise. If recommendations for improvement to the Academic Records area come out of this process, coordinate/implement improvements to alleviate areas of concerns that are identified.
e. Participate in all campus academic meetings.
f. Assist faculty and staff as needed with interfaces to CampusVue.
3. Assure compliance with all policies and procedures as outlined the Student Catalog, Faculty Handbook, and the College Policy & Procedure Manual, at the campus-level.
a. Provide information on policies and procedures to students and staff when requested.
b. Work with students and the Director(s) of Clinical Education to insure compliance with both Galen and affiliate requirements for participation (immunizations, CPR, drug screenings, etc.)
4. Support College/Campus goals.
a. Monitor campus' performance as outlined in the campus Institutional Effectiveness Plan and assist in the development of the action plans to meet campus goals.
b. Lead the Campus Academic Records staff in contributing to the attainment of goals outlined for the campus.
i. Track and report on Student interactions.
ii. Track and report on Student Placement and work to achieve campus strategic goal for placement.
iii. Track and report on all other campus goals.
5. Assist in the production of class and examination schedules which, as much as possible, serve the needs and preferences of faculty and students and insure that the classrooms assigned meet the needs of quality instruction.
a. Work with the program directors, to facilitate the creation of schedules, calendars or room grids and maintain all classroom calendars and course schedules throughout each term and update assigned faculty in CampusVue as needed.
Other Duties
1. Participate in all campus activities that directly interface with students- such as orientation, open house, graduation; expectation is attendance at a minimum of three graduations per year.

Experience/Education: Bachelor's degree in a business-related field required.

**Job Summary and Qualifications**
The Surgical First Assistant works as a member of the perioperative team under the direction of the surgeon. He/she performs responsibilities of both the Surgical Technologist and the Surgical First Assistant based on department needs and as directed by the unit director or designee. The Surgical First Assistant practices within the scope of the job description and performs clinical and technical skills under surgeon supervision to assist with carrying out a safe operation with optimal patient results. This is done in collaboration with the circulating RN and other perioperative/OB team members. The Surgical First Assistant is educated and skilled in both the use of surgical instruments on tissues and the handling of instruments; however, the surgical first assistant does not concurrently function as the scrub nurse.
What you will do in this role:
+ Functions as a surgical first assistant at the direction of and under the appropriate supervision of the attending surgeon; always practices within the limitations of preparation and experience and within the scope allowed by the hospital.
+ Consistently functions at the direction of and under direct supervision (physical presence of the attending surgeon in the procedure/treatment room) of the attending surgeon. The surgical assistant scope includes:
+ Providing visualization of the operative site through appropriate placement and securing of retractors with or without padding, packing or sponges; digital manipulation of tissue; suctioning, irrigation or sponging; manipulation of suture materials; proper use of body mechanics to prevent obstruction of the surgeon's view.
+ Utilizing appropriate permanent and temporary techniques to assist with hemostasis. Permanent hemostasis techniques include clamping and/or cauterizing vessels and tissue, tying and/or ligating clamped vessels or tissue, applying hemostatic clips, or placing hemostatic agents. Temporary hemostasis techniques include applying tourniquets and demonstrating awareness of the indications/contraindications for use with knowledge of side effects of extended use; applying vessel loops, non-crushing clamps, or direct digital pressure.
+ Administering post-operative subcutaneous local anesthetic injection
+ Utilizing running or interrupted sutures with absorbable or non-absorbable material of wound layers, including muscle and fascia.
+ Assisting with placement of implants
+ Robotic procedures only: Insertion of subsequent (not initial) trocars. Must have documented training and competency validated (initially within by MHS Medical staff member privileged to perform robotic surgery. The documentation must include directly supervised trocar insertions on a minimum of 5 patients completed within a 12 month period with good patient outcomes
+ Under direct or general perioperative supervision (surgeon/proceduralist presence in the perioperative area (pre-op department, perioperative suite, PACU, OR/procedure waiting room) and is immediately available), the surgical assistant scope includes closure of body planes and applies wound dressings per the method indicated by the attending physician:
+ i. Utilizing sub-cuticular closure technique with or without adhesive skin closure strips
+ ii. Skin closure with suture, staples and/or spray occlusive material/skin adhesive strips
+ iii. Securing drainage systems to tissue
+ iv. Application of immobilizing dressing
What qualifications you will need:
Education: Must have completed ALL of the following:
1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Successful completion of an accredited surgical first assistant training program.
3. Meets ONE of the following:
+ Graduate/completion of CAAHEP Surgical First Assistant, Surgical Assistant Program, Medical School Graduate OR an allied health professional with 2250 hours of surgical rotation.
+ Practiced as a surgical technologist prior to 9/1/2009
Experience: New hires as of 3/29/2011- 2 years experience in the perioperative setting within the last 4 years in either a surgical technologist or surgical first assistant role.
Credentials: Must have and maintain ONE of the following:
A. Surgical Technologist Certification
+ CST - Certified Surgical Technologist through the National Board for Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) (formally the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist) OR

**Job Summary and Qualifications**
As the Collections Representative, you will contribute to the company's mission, vision, and values by completing follow-up and collections for patient services. Under the supervision of the Business Office Manager/Business Office Supervisor, you will obtain payment from third party payers and self-pay accounts to enhance cash flow and gather reimbursement based on established contracts.
**What you will do in this role:**
+ You will perform follow up activities on accounts to ensure prompt payment
+ You will identify coding or billing errors from EOBs and work to correct them
+ You will monitor insurance claims and contact insurance companies to resolve claims
+ You will update the patient account record to identify actions taken
+ You will assign bad debt to the collection agency
+ You will act as a liaison accounts and administer contracts in collection of third party accounts (Medicare and Medicaid)
+ You will complete account reconciliation of accounts turned over to outside agencies
+ You will negotiate payment plans on self-pay accounts
+ You are responsible for maintaining accounts receivable and creating a reduction in bad debt
**Qualifications you will need:**
+ Minimum (1) year of experience in a medical office setting highly preferred. (i.e. ambulatory surgery center, hospital, doctors office) preferred
+ Knowledge of managed care payers and medical terminology is preferred
