Responsible for establishing and maintaining the highest sanitation and guest service standards
Clean, maintain and organize work assignments
Follow all Health Codes (State, Federal, and OSHA requirements) and company guidelines at assigned work station
Communicate with supervisors, both verbally and in writing
Assist in training new employees
Work steadily and accurately, paying attention to detail
In accordance with the Health Department codes and Departmental Policies, must consistently be in compliance
Maintain a positive work environment
Assist in other areas when directed or assigned
Deep clean stoves and kitchen equipment according to procedures
Breakdown, feed, catch, and properly sort all dishes and flatware as it is brought to the dish area
Wash, sort, and store pots and pans in their designated location on proper tracks
Wash walls, ceilings, baseboards, floor drains, hand sinks, tables and cutting boards
Sweep and mop all floors
Transport garbage from all kitchen areas (kitchen storerooms, walk-ins, and other designated assigned areas)
Clean and polish silver, flatware and brass in all areas as needed
Deep cleaning and strictly following cleaning procedures
Follows and adheres to all company and departmental safety guidelines
Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory in this position
Transport of related food product, supplies and ware washing items to and from respected areas
Learn and perform proper stocking, storage and rotation techniques
Work efficiently and accurately in safe operating mode
Identify and inform supervisor regarding any problems with assigned station
Maintain food product pars and restocking stations according to business demands
Ability to communicate with intra departments on their requirements
Continuously cleaning and organizing work station
Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and other talent
Performs all relative miscellaneous duties as directed by supervisor/manager.
Qualifications
This position utilizes strong chemicals and cleaners
Proper use, storage and disposal of these chemicals in mandatory
Continuous standing and periodically walking for long periods of time; walking on different floor surfaces
Periodically pushing and pulling heavy carts and lifting products in proper storage areas
Constantly staying mentally alert, maintaining eye/hand coordination
Repetitive motions sorting products
Constantly stooping, bending, reaching
Frequently lifting and carrying up to a maximum of 60 lbs. alone
Occasionally pulling up to 1200 lbs. with a cart
Temperatures vary from hot to cold areas
Days and hours may vary; all shifts may be required at times
Working with hot kitchen equipment
Must be able to withstand the pressure and strain of working in close quarters
Cleaning of work areas, equipment, and specified utensils
Exposed periodically to high heat
Moderate to loud noise levels
Standing on various floor surfaces throughout the day
Frequent wrist motions, twisting, bending, reaching
Occasionally exposed to steam and moisture
Exposed to sharp instruments, equipment blades, knives, and specialized food preparation equipment
Clean and secure specialized equipment
Lift food items sometimes as heavy as 100 lbs.
No prior kitchen experience required
Must acquire knowledge of Stewarding-related products: china, glass, silverware, linen and cleaning chemicals
Must be able to read, write, and understand in English
