The Oncology Registered Nurse evaluates, plans, implements and documents nursing care for the oncology patient population. The Oncology Registered Nurse works in hospitals and outpatient care centers where patients receive cancer treatments. In hospital settings, the Oncology Registered Nurse assists with surgery prep, patient education and coordination of their cancer treatments. In outpatient care center settings, the Oncology Registered Nurse typically helps with treatments such as chemotherapy and infusions while monitoring patients' vitals, side effects, and pain.
Minimum Requirements:
Current RN license in state practicing
One (1) year of experience in oncology nursing preferred
Current CPR if applicable
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age

About the Opportunity

Position Responsibilities
Safe, competent administration of anti-neoplastic medications
Central line assessment and management
Rapid response and management of medication reactions
Coordination and communication with a collaborative oncology care team
Manage a caseload of 5-7 patients per day
Documentation and workflow using EPIC EMR
Utilize facility equipment, including PTE for medication safety, infusion pumps (including CADD home pumps), and vital sign monitoring
No call requirements

Monday-Friday (one set day off during the week)

Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemo Immunotherapy Administration Certification

This ER Registered Nurse opportunity is per diem and offers a convenient varied flexible schedule. We are looking for a dynamic individual who will provide professional nursing care within the Emergency Department; coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs of patients, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicates with ED physicians regarding changes in patient's status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies. Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients and the general patient population
Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. Accurately assigns triage categories.
Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.
Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.

A cardiac catheterization lab nurse has the primary function of performing work using the heart catheterization tool. This catheter is inserted into the arteries of the heart and used to diagnose heart conditions and sometimes used to provide treatment for certain heart conditions. They also assist physicians with the implant of pacemakers and defibrillators in patients who are suffering from heart conditions and heart disease. Physicians performing angioplasties, valvuloplasties, stent placements, cardiac catheterization, and other catheterization procedures often employ the assistance of a cardiac catheterization lab nurse.
