The RN (Cath Lab or Cardiac Cath Lab) specializes in workingwith patients undergoing cardiac procedures in a catheterization lab. During cardiac catheterizations, thesespecially trained nurses assist the medical team by monitoring the patient'svitals, assisting with procedural sedatives, assisting doctors, technicians,nurses and the patients.
Minimum Requirements:
Registered Nurse with a current state license where theywill be working
ACLS may be required by state/client contract
Minimum of 2 years critical care or Cardiac Cath Labexperience preferred
Current CPR if applicable
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age

As a Registered Nurse at MercyOne, you will provide and direct safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions. Through evidence-based practice, utilizes critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate outcome-based care. The Acute Care RN manages a diverse patient population with varying levels of acuity, including post-operative, medical, telemetry, and neurologic patients. Supervises and coordinates care provided by LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and other nursing team members. Facilitates communication with physicians, patients and families, and interdisciplinary team members. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and upholds the Mission, Vision, and Values of MercyOne.
Essential Functions:
Conducts assessment
Identifies patient problems and develops plan of care
Implements outcome/goal - based plan of care
Evaluates patient progress and revises the outcome/goal - based plan as needed
Communicates relevant clinical information to the team to optimize patient outcomes/goals
Demonstrates clinical competence
Manages telemetry and cardiac monitoring when applicable
Provides care appropriate to the age-related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit
Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures
Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health's Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.
Schedule:
Night Shift, .9 FTE (36 hours per week)
RNs work 12-hour shifts
Day shift: 6:00 am - 6:30 pm, Night shift: 6:00 pm - 6:30 am
This unit self-schedules. Schedules are 6-week bocks
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in nursing required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Possession of a current or compact state licensure as a Registered Nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required
American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required only if the unit has telemetry monitoring capabilities
Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter - Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountable for providing care that is based on licensure/certification within the scope of practice
Maintains an updated clinical record on each patient at all times, meeting required deadlines for documentation
Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing service to the patient and family on an ongoing basis
Consults with physicians concerning alterations of patient care plans, documentation of changes in patient care and reports all changes in care to the nurse supervisor
Supports FFHC's mission by mentoring and/or coaching new employees during patient specific orientations
Educates patients and their caregivers on topics related to patients' care needs
Participates in FFHC Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement program (QAPI) as requested
Continually strives to improve his/her nursing care skills
Attends and/or completes all mandatory training/ in-services as assigned
Submits required personnel file documentation in a timely manner
Adheres to FFHC compliance and ethics expectations
Maintains patient and family confidentiality

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED
LPN/LVN Nursing Degree. Unencumbered LPN/LVN License in the state of employment or Multi-State license through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact where recognized.
1 years of demonstrated experience
Valid driver license with proof of insurance in applicable states
Clear background screening
Working knowledge of Nurse Practice Acts
Valid and current CPR card/certificate with in person instructor led hands on skills check

As the only Pediatric inpatient unit in the Dubuque area, pediatric staff provide family centered care to pediatric patients up to the age of 18. This includes conducting physical assessments, monitoring and administration of medications, creating care plans and providing relevant patient education. Pediatric staff work closely with physicians, respiratory therapists and laboratory personnel to fulfill each patient's plan of care.
Working a primarily night position, staff are assigned every third weekend and have an assigned holiday rotation. Working primarily 1800-0630, schedule is otherwise created utilizing self-scheduling with the guidance of the unit based staffing committee.
Pediatric staff will be cross-trained to the Level 2 NICU to take patients admitted to that unit, in addition to crosstraining to care for postpartum couplets. Opportunities to assist in the Emergency Department with pediatric patients as well, including assessments and cares. All Pediatric staff are certified in NRP and PALS onsite, and are also required to be certified in BLS and mandatory reporter.
Full time position in the Birth Center at MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center. Primarily night position; this position is also required to work every third weekend and every third holiday. Care for the laboring patient in addition to postpartum couplets and surgical patients. Will be cross trained to assist in pediatrics during times of high census. Required to become Electronic Fetal Monitor certified within first year, in addition to ACLS and NRP; Mandatory Reporter and BLS also required.
POSITION PURPOSE:
Provides and directs safe, effective, and culturally competent care for women, newborns, and pediatric patients. Utilizes evidence-based practice and critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate outcome-based care. Manages a diverse patient population across labor and delivery, postpartum, newborn nursery, pediatrics, and/or pediatric intensive care, with varying levels of acuity. Supervises and coordinates care provided by LPNs, Patient Care Technicians/Assistants, and other team members, while ensuring clear communication with physicians, families, and the interdisciplinary team. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and upholds the Mission, Vision, and Values of MercyOne.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associate degree in nursing required
2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
3. Current Iowa RN license, (current Illinois (IL) license if working in IL) required.

* Identifies and makes appropriate referrals (e.g., Lactation Consultant, Social Services, Nutritional Services, Spiritual Care).
3. Implements the outcome/goal-based plan of care
* Assigns and coordinates patient care based on acuity and team member competencies.
* Organizes and prioritizes care for mothers, newborns, and pediatric patients.
* Delegates tasks appropriately to other team members.
* Implements the plan of care including procedures, treatments, physician orders, nursing orders, education plans, and medications.

Serve on Imagines' Quality Team as a medical/behavioral representative on the Responsive Services Committee for identified regions.
Provide oversight and support (in-person and virtual) to individuals with complex medical and/or behavioral challenges.
Serve as a liaison with the care team for individuals-served, including psychiatry, therapists, pharmacy, and support staff. This includes:
o Providing resources and support to individuals in crisis.
o Showing empathy and compassion in interactions with individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
o Participating and providing support within the implementation of an individuals care plan, including their interventions and additional supports.
o Connecting individuals and/or staff with resources/education necessary as it relates to mental health, chemical dependency, or inappropriate sexual behaviors.
Assist in the development, training, implementation, and monitoring of individuals-served complex medical and/or behavioral support plans. This role requires you to have extensive knowledge in mental health/psychiatric nursing. This means you will also assist with individual-served crisis intervention and risk management planning through supporting the development and review of appropriate, time-limited rights restrictions, behavioral supports, and intervention plans.
Assist with medication administration, as needed. This could include assisting with the development and review of curriculum and remedial training for our direct care teams.
Be an advocate for individuals receiving services to have as much control over their own lives as possible. All individuals should be treated with respect and should feel empowered to live their life as independently as physically possible.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Nurse Corps Officers may serve at any one of more than 250 Navy and medical facilities around the globe, from Hawaii to Japan, Germany to Guam and Washington, D.C., to Washington state. As a Navy Nurse, you could work at one of the highly acclaimed National Naval Medical Centers in Bethesda, MD, Portsmouth, VA or San Diego, CA. Or you could provide medical support aboard one of two dedicated hospital shipsthe USNS Comfort and USNS Mercy. Additional opportunities are available on surface ships, with aircraft squadrons or even with the Fleet Marine Force.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
