WORK ENVIRONMENT
Nurse Corps Officers may serve at any one of more than 250 Navy and medical facilities around the globe, from Hawaii to Japan, Germany to Guam and Washington, D.C., to Washington state. As a Navy Nurse, you could work at one of the highly acclaimed National Naval Medical Centers in Bethesda, MD, Portsmouth, VA or San Diego, CA. Or you could provide medical support aboard one of two dedicated hospital shipsthe USNS Comfort and USNS Mercy. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

The diagnosis of these patients varies from respiratory illness, diabetes, septicemia, cellulitis, hyperbilirubinemia, neglect/abuse, mental health, trauma, neurology, and general surgeries. The general surgeries may include ear/nose/throat, gastrointestinal, urological, orthopedics, neurosurgery, and trauma.
Advanced Care Pediatrics:Patients 0-18 years of age requiring critical or intensive care services.The most common disease entities you may care for in our Advanced Care Pediatrics Unit include but are not limited to:?acute and chronic respiratory insufficiency, circulatory failure, infectious diseases leading to major organ system dysfunction, endocrine and metabolic disorders, neurologic diseases, toxic ingestions/exposures, trauma, hematologic and oncologic disease.
