As a Nurse Lactation Consultant at Sinai Hospital, you will be responsible for supporting new parents by providing evidence-based education, hands-on assistance, and compassionate guidance to promote successful breastfeeding and infant nutrition. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Confers and collaborates routinely with the physician advisor and attending physicians to resolve problems regarding acuity and level of care.
Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies procedures quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
Identifies insurance information obtains authorization communicates with financial counseling and assigns appropriate length of stay for admission.
Implements strategies to avoid denials including potential denial notification to attending physician. Issues letter of non-coverage for Medicare or third-party payers according to policies and procedures. Communicates utilization plans to case management team. Evaluates concurrent and retrospective denials for appeal opportunities. Generates appeal letters based on knowledge of clinical severity and intensity.
Manages the department in the Director's absence. Keeps Director informed about issues related to staffing and problem areas. Keeps Director informed about issues related to quality risk patient/family issues and concerns allocation of resources and vendor/payer issues. Assists the Director in monitoring performance issues. Contributes to the performance evaluation process by giving feedback to the Director and helping create professional development plans for UR Coordinators.
Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams.
Performs admission reviews and subsequent concurrent reviews to determine the necessity for acute care by application of accepted criteria based on age specific needs. Interacts with and assists third party payer reviewers to facilitate appropriate care and ensure payment of services. Performs concurrent and retrospective reviews telephonically as required. Completes all forms and documentation necessary to support appropriate utilization of resources.

General Summary

THE PROGRAM:
The program is a 64-bed residential program that offers medically monitored and clinically managed intensive residential treatment services for adult men with substance use and co-occurring disorders. This intensive residential program helps break the cycle of drug and alcohol abuse and equips men with the tools needed to be successful at the next appropriate level of care.
As an LPN on our team, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, person-centered care during one of the most critical phases of treatment. You'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team-providing medical support, monitoring withdrawal symptoms, administering medications, and helping clients stabilize in a supportive, structured environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide general nursing care services within the legal scope of nursing practice and standards developed by the profession, Nurse Practice Act, and regulatory agencies
Use professional nursing processes, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, while carrying out nursing responsibilities
Communicate health care needs of clients to appropriate supervising staff
Respond to emergency health care needs of the clients
Monitors client supervision
Maintain adherence to posted schedule
Facilitates residential community groups as scheduled or as needed to resolve community issues
Meets regularly with Residential Structure to ensure smooth operations of facility and RCS
Supervise house checks on a regular and random basis
Coordinate shift turnover to ensure smooth transitions and dissemination of appropriate information to the next shift
Liaison for communication of clinical information between staff
Perform health screenings of clients
Collect and record data specific to the health status of clients
Assist in monitoring special programs such as infection control and medication management
Provides health care instruction and information to clients relating to the promotion of health and wellness.
Attend and participate in scheduled staff meetings as required
Responsible for maintaining ethical standards and continued professional growth, including
Abide by Program and NCTR policy and procedures
Ensure all CARF standards are instituted and maintained
Promote, in public and private contacts, the quality standards and ethical practices of NCTR staff.
Continue professional growth by attending workshops, trainings and staff in-service trainings to increase skill and knowledge and to set appropriate example for staff
Maintain current licensure/certification including FEAR, CPR, First Aid, and Medication Management
Maintain professional boundaries with staff and clients
QUALIFICATIONS:
Currently licensed in Virginia as an LPN
Minimum of two years experience in addictions/psychiatric nursing

Position Summary: The Resident Services Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) is responsible for assisting the Resident Services Director with the overall implementation, delivery, and coordination of Resident Care Services at the Community.

Supervise Resident Services Department associates, including C.N.A.'s (Resident Services Assistants).

Support the completion of resident assessments and service plans.
