Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Reviews staffing sheets for accuracy. Assigns float staff based on staffing grid/ratio and staff expertise. Analyzes the need for additional staff for each shift utilizing census and acuity information. Plans ahead to cover deficiencies and demonstrates good judgment and creativity in arranging unit coverage. Notifies Clinical Manager and Clinical Director of staffing deficiencies and collaborates with unit management regarding reassignment of personnel. Qualifications Education and Experience Requirements: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing Associate's Degree in Nursing, minimum required Bachelor of Science in Nursing, preferred Current OH RN License 3-5 Years equivalent experience, minimum required OR Four (4) years progressive leadership responsibilities and ICU experience. 6-10 Years equivalent experience, preferred Membership in a professional organization is desirable, but not required. BCLS required prior to patient contact. ACLS, telemetry certification required. Certification(s) specific to rehabilitation, medical/surgical, orthopedic, critical care or gerontological nursing desired. Competencies: Relieving the previous shift and conferring with them regarding all records, logs, daily reports to ensure accurate and complete reporting. Officially document any records, logs and so forth that are not complete. Conduct searches of all residents and their belongings each time they enter the facility. Assist in or conduct a residential headcount/bed check a minimum of three times per shift. Monitor the condition and behavior of all residents for intoxication. Assist in or conduct necessary room searches and inspections. Assist in the monitoring and collection of resident urinalysis specimens. May be required to transport residents, staff and/or packages to and from assigned destinations in an agency vehicle. Answer in-coming phone calls and direct the calls as needed.
