**The Role**
As a highly technical and hands-on position, the IT Systems Engineer II will be supporting the Public Sector Solution Integration team and its specialized customers. Responsible for participating in multiple team environments and supporting efforts for all aspects of system integration including design, needs analysis, design review, testing, implementation, and validation.
Maintain configuration management of cabinets and systems for integration and deployment of telecommunication equipment and infrastructure for a nationwide network. Performance will primarily occur in a laboratory environment. The duties will include (but not limited to): system integration and configuration, equipment tracking and grouping, as well as RMA replacement and pre-deployment requirements, close work orders requiring pre-configuration of equipment, contribute and maintain documentation related to aforementioned responsibilities. Optimize and coordinate verification lab lifecycle activities (from equipment receipt, to integration, to deployment).
The responsibilities of this position will continue to grow as additional portions of the environment are accredited and achieve operational status, and as additional customer groups are added.

**Basic Qualifications** :
Knowledge and experience should include computer network and IT system operations.

Available 24/7 for Network Outages and Maintenance window work as needed.
Must be willing to work rotating, on-call, and or work after hours as needed.

**Preferred Qualifications** :

* Evaluates new or updated hardware and software and may construct test labs, infrastructure and testing plans for further evaluation and simulation prior to their implementation in production environments.
* Assists with deployment planning for potential adoption of new technologies or processes and develops and validates back-out strategies and backup/restore procedures for recovery in the event of unforeseen issues.
* Reviews planning and implementation documentation and verifies successful installation and proper operation.
* Stays abreast of the most current releases and security updates for assigned products and systems and judiciously implements them while minimizing impacts to production environments.
* Research and analyze relevant documentation for problem troubleshooting and resolution of performance or compatibility issues with hardware, operating systems or other software and utilities and work with vendor support resources as required.
* Provides complete and comprehensive descriptions of reported problems, troubleshooting and remediation steps and progress for all assigned incidents and change events maintaining ongoing communication with all stakeholders using Lottery incident management processes.
* Adheres to Lottery change management practices in the performance of all modifications.
* Develops and maintains clear and comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure documents for all assigned infrastructure and systems.
* Attends meetings and conferences as scheduled prepared to engage and provide input.
* Makes use of Lottery provided learning resources to improve competency and learn new skills.
* Maintains familiarity as assigned with other software, systems, and infrastructure, including SAN technologies, any Microsoft technologies from desktop to cloud and our VOIP infrastructure.
* Maintains high data security at all times in accordance with best practices and promotes security solutions and practices that balance auditor compliance with user requirements.
* Follows and upholds Lottery policies to ensure high security and the best service for end-users.
* Proactively reviews system logs, alert messages and other reports to help identify potential performance degradations before they occur and notifies appropriate parties.
* Provides on-call support outside of normal working hours as needed.
* May be required to travel on Lottery business as necessary.
* Reports to management on status of products and technology in specific areas of expertise.
