The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that manufactured or purchased components meet engineering specifications through inspection methods, documentation, and problem-solving. This role also includes disassembly analysis of rejected parts to identify failure modes and drive corrective actions into the production process. Duties and Responsibilities Compare measurements obtained on manufactured or purchased components to engineering drawing specifications (including GD&T). Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using a variety of precision gages and measurement systems. Conduct disassembly/teardown analysis on rejected parts to determine the root cause of failure or nonconformance. Document inspection and teardown findings and communicate results to engineering, production, and quality teams. Qualifications Mechanical aptitude and understanding of how components interact in assemblies. Experience with measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, plug gages, vision systems, surface testers, CMM, etc.). Ability to methodically disassemble components for failure analysis. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and within a team. Computer literacy for data entry and reporting. Familiarity with quality systems or standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001) a plus. The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that manufactured or purchased components meet engineering specifications through inspection methods, documentation, and problem-solving. This role also includes disassembly analysis of rejected parts to identify failure modes and drive corrective actions into the production process.
