Job Duties
Currently offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus and 80 hours of front-loaded annual leave time with a one-year written agreement.
This position is for the Long-Term Care unit and will require travel throughout Blueridge. The primary purpose of the Medical Facilities Inspector for the Home Health and Hospice Team is to independently or as part of a team conducts inspections/surveys or reviews of health care facilities for the purpose of licensure and/or certification issuance, maintenance and/or renewal to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and promotion of quality health care practices. Conducts complaint investigations; compiles and evaluates information in determining degree of compliance; communicates findings orally and in writing; reviews and recommends approval, denial, or revisions to health care provider's plan; recommends plan of correction to supervisor when provider is not in compliance. May serve as information resource to health care providers. Position require travel.
Minimum Qualifications
* Specialized knowledge of health care systems and services, quality of care issues & health care administration
* Experience communicating orally and in writing in a clear, concise, and legally defensible manner; Experience managing multiple assignments independently.
* Experience assessing individual patient/resident medical care plans and outcomes, the overall quality of facility care and services, and to interpret and apply complex state/federal regulations to the findings
* If working in LTC and/or Complaint unit, must obtain SMQT Certification within 12 months of hire date. All MFIs must obtain medical clearance for fit testing in accordance with OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard (29 CFR 1910.134) [Ref.2] regulations within 90 days of hire date and annually with exception to Complaint Unit.

What is an Occupancy Verification?
Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties and to do this they send out independent contractors. The purpose of the property inspection is:
To verify property occupancy.
To report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.
Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
We contract with inspectors at a county level. This means that you would be responsible to complete all inspections in your county. In some cases, you will split the county with another inspector if there is enough volume for two inspectors.
Responsibilities
Most common type of inspection should only take 5-6 minutes.
Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
Report general property conditions and make a determination of occupancy based on industry standards.

Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month-to-month.
Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect or are willing to cover a larger territory.

**Qualifications**
+ Two (2) or more years' experience with the NEC (National Electric Code) or equivalent
+ Two (2) or more years experience with fire suppression systems and HVAC (heating, ventilations, and air conditioning) or equivalent
+ Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
+ Demonstrated ability to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints
+ Ability to read blueprints

Performs skilled, technical inspection of construction work on public facilities and infrastructures and ensures that all work complies with city, state, and federal construction specifications, standards, and requirements. * Inspects public works construction projects at the job site;
* Traveling to multiple project sites during the workday to ensure that the completed construction complies with the approved contract documents - plans, specifications, standards, permits, etc.;
* Inspects materials, installation methods, and quality control;
* Works cooperatively with other city departments;
* Complete daily inspection reports for each project;
* Complete record drawings of completed projects;
* Complete warranty/project completion forms;
* Communicate with project managers and/or owners of the public utilities;
* Attend pre-construction and project status meetings;
* Attend related training classes and seminars;
* Performs other duties as assigned;
* Knowledge of the basic principles and practices of civil engineering applicable to work;
* Knowledge of the methods, principles, practices and terminology related to public works construction projects;
* Skill in reading construction plans, specifications, and procedures for testing materials;

Must possess certification in "Fundamentals of Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control" Level 1 through the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation; or the ability to obtain within first year of employment. Valid TN/VA Driver's License.
