Role Description
We are seeking a full-time Electrical Inspector to support construction projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
Responsibilities
Conduct daily inspections of electrical installations, including medium-voltage systems, traction power, low-voltage systems, communications, fiber optics, traffic monitoring systems, highway lighting, and traffic signals.
Review construction drawings, specifications, and submittals for compliance and constructability.
Identify and escalate scope changes, contract modifications, and potential conflicts to the Project Manager/Resident Engineer.
Respond to and resolve field construction issues; coordinate with contractors and project teams to ensure quality and compliance.
Prepare detailed daily reports on contractor progress and document any nonconformance issues.
Review RFIs and change requests from contractors and provide technical analysis and recommendations.
Support project closeout procedures, including punch lists, testing, and documentation.
Uphold workplace safety and comply with client health, safety, and anti-harassment policies.
Provide availability for night shifts as needed.
Perform additional duties as required to support business needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years' experience in construction inspection on public works projects.
Minimum High School Diploma required. Degree in engineering or construction management would be a plus.
NETA Level 2 certification or higher.
Proficient in interpreting and applying relevant codes, standards, and materials.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Valid California driver's license.
Strong proficiency in reading and writing in English.
Preferred Qualifications
Roadway construction inspection experience on highway or public works projects.
Familiarity with Caltrans and other local transit agency procedures.
Engineering or construction management degree, credentials, or certifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Three years of experience in commercial and/or institutional construction AND two years of experience as an inspector of record on major construction projects with budgets between $1M-$5M. Ability to effectively execute the applicable provisions of the SUAM Guidelines (9792.05 to 9792.08)

Any / all Non-Destructive Testing (NDT / NDE) Level II or Level III Certifications (through ASNT preferred).
Additionally, the applicant
must meet / possess
the following qualifications:
Minimum education of a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Available in/near the San Francisco Bay Area, CA.
A valid & clean Class C Driver License issued by the California DMV.
The ability to read and interpret construction plans & specifications, and to enforce their applications.
The ability to keep records & prepare reports.
The ability to communicate clearly and concisely through oral methods, such as in-person and/or by telephone, & through written methods, such as via email.
A comfortable proficiency with Microsoft Word & Excel, and also Adobe Acrobat.
Be able & open to learning & applying specific provisions of applicable codes, ordinances, & regulations mandated by appropriate jurisdictions.
The ability to perform inspections by applying technical knowledge & following proper inspection techniques to examine workmanship and materials, as well as to detect deviations from plans, regulations, & standard construction practices.
The ability to adapt to different working conditions (i.e. sitting, walking, in/outdoor settings, open/closed spaces, etc.).
The ability to lift and/or carry a maximum of 50 pounds.
Be able & open to establishing & maintaining good working relationships with company personnel & clients alike.
