Job Summary:
The Sr. Engineering Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering Global Engineering training programs to improve the skills and knowledge of employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, a deep understanding of engineering curricula, and proven expertise in managing large-scale projects This role will consult and lead project teams to effectively shape and apply the training strategy, approach, roadmap, tools, and templates to Engineering-specific learning programs.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and deliver Global Engineering training programs for various levels of Engineering leaders, managers, and employees.
Conduct training needs analysis to identify skills gaps and training requirements.
Design and implement training programs that align with industry standards and ENG academic advancements.
Lead large-scale projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
Present training programs focused on adult learning using various forms and formats including e-learning modules, group discussions, lectures, simulations, and videos.
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make continuous improvements.
Establish global relationships and partnerships with both internal business teams and external learning organizations, and Engineering Universities to increase the effectiveness of Engineering learning initiatives.
Manage and support training organization such as event planning, LMS (Learning Management System) (Workday Learning) tracking, and coordinating class resources.
Maintain training records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Coordinate and communicate effectively across global Engineering teams using multiple communication tools and technology.
Collaborate with educational institutions to stay updated on current engineering curricula.
Foster a strong continuous improvement culture to ensure deployment of scalable, simplified, and standardized processes.

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $75,000 to $100,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. Reporting to the VP of People, the Learning and Development Specialist is a critical role responsible for company-wide training strategy, curriculum design, and delivery of learning programs that enhance employee skills, engagement, and performance. This role oversees onboarding, ongoing development, documentation, and knowledge management across all departments. As a key member of the People Team, this position also supports core HR generalist activities including employee relations support, benefits education, compliance initiatives, and People Team projects.
A successful Learning and Development Specialist will:
Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable training programs that support all functions of the organization, including onboarding, systems training, professional skills, leadership development, and company processes.
Update and create training content from scratch, including presentations, facilitator guides, eLearning modules, videos, job aids, and assessments.
Maintain a consistent and engaging new-hire onboarding experience; manage onboarding schedules, tools, and tracking.
Partner with department leaders to conduct training needs assessments and identify skill gaps across the organization.
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs using metrics, feedback, and performance outcomes; implement continual improvements.
Ensure training materials stay up to date with business processes, system enhancements, and organizational priorities.

The Instructional Design Intern will support the development of high-quality, learner centered educational resources that enable operational excellence across the field teams within the organization. The intern will work with the Sales and Patient Education Instructional Design team gaining hands-on experience in content development, SME collaboration, LMS workflow, and adult learning application. This role provides meaningful work, guided development, and exposure to a full design cycle in a corporate medical device environment.

Responsibilities
* Assist in the creation of education content in multiple platforms (primarily Articulate Storline & Rise, and Adobe Express)
* Follow established formatting, branding, and documentation standards for all created materials
* Partner with Subject Matter Experts to collect content and confirm accuracy
* Contribute to the drafting of learning objectives, content outlines, and curriculum structure for assigned learning projects
* Conduct quality assurance reviews on draft materials to ensure instructional clarity, consistency and usability
* Support LMS content loading, publishing and basic testing of uploaded courses
* Manage multiple priorities to meet departmental deadlines
* Present project work, experiences, and learnings during final week of internship
* Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Required
* Enrollment in an accredited bachelor's degree program as a rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior pursuing a degree in instructional design, human resources, marketing, communications, or similar discipline
* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employment sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
* Strong academic track record (GPA of 3.0 or above)
* Able to commit to the full 11-week internship working 40 hours per week
Preferred
* Relevant instructional design coursework or experience relating to internship
* Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and others)
* Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
* Proficiency with Articulate Storyline & Rise

About the Job PDL Marketing Course Developer and Instructor The Adjunct Teaching Specialist is a temporary (per course), part-time, non-tenured for our Professional Development and Lifelong Learning Programs. The Marketing Certificate Course Developer will be responsible for developing and teaching
one or more of the following course topics:

The Adjunct Teaching Specialist will collaborate with an instructional designer and
program manager to develop 6-week non-credit course(s) during the first approximately
six months of the position. Course development typically takes 6 months, with the first
course offering taking place shortly after development ends.
After developing a course, the Adjunct Teaching Specialist will teach the course using
the developed curriculum. The courses are fully online and use a blend of synchronous
and asynchronous instructional methods. Live instruction is done through a weekly
Zoom session. Asynchronous instruction is done through the university's learning
management system, Canvas.
Each course will last 6 weeks. During the instructional phase of this position, the Adjunct
Teaching Specialist is expected to be engaged and available for a total of 11 weeks,
including the 2 weeks prior to the course start date and 3 weeks after the course end
date.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Course Development 60%
1. Create clear, succinct, and measurable outcomes for the course.
2. Identify, sequence, and structure the topics the course will address in each
module.
3. Develop learning activities and course media that support the course learning
outcomes.
4. Develop learning assessments that allow learners to demonstrate achievement
of the learning outcomes.
5. Collaborate with an instructional designer, program manager, and other
university staff throughout the course development process.
6. Follow the requirements for course development laid out in the course
development handbook.
Section Prep 5%
1. Record and post introduction video.
2. Send course introduction email.
3. Verify dates and contents of course site are correct. Make any needed updates
and corrections.
4. Open the course and modules.
Live Instruction 10%
1. Prepare for weekly Zoom sessions following a structure provided by the pre-
designed curriculum.
2. Facilitate weekly zoom sessions as scheduled by the department and following
the expectations in the instructor handbook. .
Learning Assessment and Feedback 20%
1. Evaluate submitted work to determine if each learner has achieved the course
learning objectives.

Support Learners 5%
1. Respond to learner questions about course content and logistics by email or
