Position Purpose
Responsible for planning and implementing a quality recreation, leisure and physical fitness program for the Villagers taking into consideration their interests and abilities, including participation in community activities. This position will be part of the AFLS curriculum delivery team through developing meaningful activities and instruction to reinforce skills acquisition and maintenance. Responsible for planning and implementing Community Inclusion/Outreach opportunities for the Villagers.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or AA Degree in Physical Education, Therapeutic Recreation, Special Education or related field with a minimum of 2 years proven experience working with IDD population or related field.
Must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid Class C Georgia Driver's License, proof of vehicle insurance, and meet company policy regarding MVR requirements.
Must meet state requirements regarding a GBI and FBI criminal history record check which requires fingerprinting.
Must undergo and pass a drug screening and screening for Tuberculosis.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Plans, instructs, demonstrates and assists Villagers in performing appropriate recreational and physical fitness activities for wellness and leisure skills development.
Assists with the development of person centered training routines to be followed in the fitness center.
Works in collaboration with fitness instructor and/or therapy group to maintain training routines.
Responsible for adapting activities to meet the physical and developmental abilities of all Villagers.
Works with other Program Center areas to plan on and off campus activities.
Responsible for documenting Villager activities in the electronic record system.
Responsible for maintaining community contacts that enrich recreation and leisure activities or other team activities with groups in the community.
Coordinates community activities such as the annual Golden Games activities.
Acts as agency coordinator for Special Olympics; plans and chaperones all Special Olympics/Team Activities events in which the Villagers participate.
Plans and/or assists in planning parties, field trips and special activities to include monitoring of Villagers at these events.
Places requisitions for recreational equipment and materials needed for classroom instruction and special events that are within budget.
Provide feedback for Annual Service Review meetings for Villager, evaluating and giving input regarding Villagers' progress and goal setting as needed.
Responsible for upkeep of recreation equipment, supplies and other operating materials. Facility and materials need to be safe and clean at all times.
Assists with maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the Program Center and recreation equipment.
Assists Villagers with personal hygiene as needed.
Works with Assessment and Curriculum Coordinator to provide identified skill building classes and activities.
Attends all required and assigned trainings and meetings.
Provides engaging programming on assigned Saturdays.
Provides monitoring at dining hall as assigned.
Must be available to work nights and weekends.
Performs other duties that may be necessary in the best interest of Annandale at Suwanee, Inc. to meet the personal service and care of the Villagers.

The Ideal Candidate has:

Classroom teaching experience at the K-12 level is preferred.
Not Required:
A formal teaching credential is not required for this position.
Schedule (Academic Year):
AoPS Academy is an afterschool program with classes in the evenings and on weekends. Candidates must be available to teach during weekday after-school hours (as early as 4pm) and/or on weekends.
This position requires a minimum initial commitment of about 3 hours per week for each assigned class.
Each course meets once per week for 1 hour 45 minutes.
Schedule (Summer):
During the summer, we offer multiple two-week camps between June - August.
Camp classes are held Monday-Friday for 3 hours a day, with both morning and afternoon classes.
Campus Location:
This is an in-person position at our Johns Creek location.
Candidates must be located in Johns Creek, GA or the greater area and must be able to commute to our campus.

Purpose of Job
The purpose of this job is to assist in planning, developing, executing and evaluating Athens-Clarke County Unified Government recreational gymnastics programs.
Job Related Requirements
WORK SCHEDULE: Recreational Classes (School Year) Monday - Thursday, 2:45 pm - 7:30 pm. Summer camps - Monday through Friday, 8:45 am - 4:15 pm.
May be required to work on religious holidays.
Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Must work cooperatively with others.
When requirements include vehicle operation, responsible for the safety, readiness and operation of the vehicle and must abide by ACC's safe driving policy.
Gymnastics Instructor I: Minimum age of fifteen and experience working with children or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Gymnastics Instructor II: High school Senior or above with two to four years coaching experience; previous gymnastics experience required or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Gymnastics Instructor III: High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years coaching gymnastics experience; previous gymnastics experience required or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job
Gymnastics, cheer or dance background preferred.
The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Assists with the planning, development, execution and evaluation of recreational gymnastics programs for various age groups, and recommends programming to meet community needs.
Instructs recreational gymnastics classes and related activities and events as needed.
Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment, and requisitions supplies as needed.
Assists with the enforcement of facility rules and regulations.
Prepares and distributes handouts for gymnastics programs.
Recommends and assists with the development of gymnastics program policies.
Evaluates students for placement in gymnastics programs.
Performs other related duties as required.

Knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of comprehensive recreational gymnastics program.
Knowledge of all applicable laws, ordinances, policies, standards and regulations pertaining to the duties and responsibilities of the job.
Ability to effectively communicate and interact with subordinates, management, employees, members of the general public and all other groups involved in the activities of the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government.
Ability to assemble information and make written reports and documents in a concise, clear and effective manner.
Ability to stay informed of any changes in policy, methods, operations, budgetary and equipment needs, etc. as they pertain to departmental operations and activities.

MOTOR COORDINATION: Requires the ability to coordinate hands, fingers, and eyes accurately in using athletic equipment, small tools and field cushman. Requires the ability to lift, push, bend and pull objects or materials using body parts as the position necessitates.
MANUAL DEXTERITY: Requires the ability to handle a variety of items such as athletic equipment, small tools and field cushman. Must have the ability to use one hand for twisting or turning motion while coordinating other hand with different activities. Must have minimal levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.
COLOR DISCRIMINATION: Requires the ability to differentiate between colors and shades of color.
INTERPERSONAL TEMPERAMENT: Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under moderate stress when confronted with an emergency.
