KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Minimum Qualifications
Lecturer of Nursing (non-tenure track):
Unencumbered RN license in the State of Texas or an unencumbered RN Compact license.
Current unencumbered Texas APRN license and national certification (FNP or PMHNP)
Ph.D., DNP, Ed.D. with advanced practice certification and experience in the area of course being taught OR Master of Nursing Degree with advanced practice certification and experience in the area of course being taught
Ability to engage in online instruction and limited on campus for clinical, didactic, and student/program needs
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Assistant Professor Rank (tenure track):
Unencumbered RN license in the State of Texas or an unencumbered RN Compact license.
Current unencumbered Texas APRN license and national certification (FNP or PMHNP)
Terminal degree: Ph.D., DNP, Ed.D. with advanced practice certification and experience in the area of course being taught

Experience teaching in a classroom setting and a clinical setting.
Current clinical practical experience
Leadership, Community Health, Public Health, and/or Rural Health experience
A record of Professional Activities related to nursing or nursing education.
Evidence of research agenda and scholarship

Summary of Job Duties:To university students scoring below admissions standards in Reading and math with appropriate remediation instruction to improve academic skills and to advance successfully into degree required coursework.
1. Facilitate CCAP (College and Career Access) classes for students enrolled at UAHT- Texarkana.
2. Demonstrate a commitment to academic achievement of all students.
3. Foster collegiality & teambuilding among staff; participate actively in the decision-making process.
4. Communicate and promote expectations for high-level performance from students; hold students accountable for high performance; Collaborate with the director/staff to recognize excellence and achievement.
5. Establish and maintain an orderly and supportive classroom environment in which learners actively participate and show respect for one another and the instructor.
6. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
7. Use technology to strengthen the teaching and learning process.
8. Conduct and arrange ongoing assessment of students' achievement through formal or informal testing.
9. Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
10. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other required documents.
11. Attend and participate in staff meetings and serve on committees as assigned.

Additional Duties: Provide instruction, career coaching, and assessment for students pursuing WAGE™ (Workforce Alliance for Growth in the Economy) or NCRC (National Career Readiness Certificate) certifications.
· Proctor NCRC assessments for Miller County residents referred by local Workforce Services staff.
· Work with local business, industry, community board organizations and other educational institutions to provide employment, training and post-secondary opportunities to WAGE™ students.
· Provide distance learning opportunities for assigned students.
· Participate in activities which are related to school functions and/or educational processes which occur outside the regular school day.
· Other duties assigned by the program director.

The nursing program at Texas A&M University - Texarkana awards Bachelor of Science degrees (ADN-BSN & Traditional BSN) and Master of Science degrees in Nursing Administration, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and Family Nurse Practitioner. The programs are offered face-to-face (Traditional BSN), online (ADN-BSN), and online/hybrid (MSN) and are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The nursing programs are part of the College of Nursing, Health, and Human Services (CNHHS) and will be pursuing an aggressive program growth agenda over the next five (5) years. The appointment will be for a 9-month full time faculty member.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lecturer of Nursing (non-tenure track) teaching assignment: 15 SCH undergraduate courses in each long semester in the classroom/clinical/simulation areas and/or online
Assistant Professor of Nursing (tenure track) teaching assignment: 12 SCH undergraduate and graduate courses in each long semester in the classroom/clinical/simulation areas and/or online
Teach courses in the BSN, ADN-BSN, and/or MSN programs in a variety of formats (online, hybrid, face-to-face) including clinical and simulation teaching/supervision.
Student advisement as assigned
Active participant in program development, renewal, and revision
Perform appropriate levels of service within the university, region, and/or with regional/national healthcare entities
Work with the Nursing Chair to develop collaborative relationships with local and regional healthcare entities
Able to seek and participate in independent and/or collaborative extramurally funded projects and research
In accordance with
Texas Board of Nursing, Rules and Regulations relating to Nurse Education, Licensure and Practice
(2014), faculty shall be responsible for:
Supervising student in clinical and experiential learning experiences
Supervising all initial nursing procedures performed by the student in the clinical area and ascertaining that the student is competent before allowing the student to perform an actual nursing procedure independently
