Program Overview
This position is responsible for providing Multisystemic Therapy (MST) to youth ages 12 to 17 that display serious antisocial behaviors and are at-risk of placement out of the home due to their behaviors. Our MST program is built on the principle that the serious behavior problems of a child typically stem from a combination of influences including family factors, deviant peer group, problems in school or the community, and individual characteristics. The MST model calls for simultaneously addressing all of those inter-related areas.
Position Overview and Expectations
* MST Family counselor carries a caseload of five (5) families.
* The MST model requires the Family Counselor to meet with each family on their caseload at least three times per week.
* Conduct MST assessments that include identifying and engaging key participants, identifying systemic strengths and weaknesses, and developing an analysis of the fit of problem behaviors within the ecological context.
* Engage primary caregivers and other key participants in active change-oriented treatment by identifying and overcoming barriers to engagement.
* Implement a problem conceptualization, treatment planning, intervention implementation, outcomes review and strategy revision procedure using the MST Analytic Process.
* Maintain clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts that promote peer and supervisory review and feedback, and that demonstrate compliance with the nine MST Principles and the MST Analytic Process.
* Ability to engage and collaborate with all relevant systems and key participants within each system, to maintain alignment throughout MST treatment.
* Provide direct clinical treatment using methods compatible with MST principles and practices.
* Participate in all MST training, supervision, consultation, and MST Therapist development activities.
Additional Information
* Schedule is flexible and non-traditional; based around the availability of youth and families served.
* Counselors rotate on-call availability on weekends and after-hours, requiring one weekly rotation per month.
* Drive up to 60-80 miles to meet with families in the home

Family Therapist
Intensive in-home counselor job in Ellenboro, NC
Red Oak Recovery (Ellenboro, NC) specializes in the treatment of adult men and is a clinically dynamic, trauma intensive substance abuse and mental health treatment program. The leadership team of Red Oak Recovery is made up of recognized experts in the field of mental health who specialize in the integration of wilderness and experiential therapy, substance abuse, trauma, and mental health treatment.
During their time at our treatment center, clients receive a minimum of 25 hours of clinician-led group and individual therapy sessions each week. This level of care ensures that our clients receive the attention they deserve while progressing toward growth and change.
We are seeking a Family Therapist for our campus. This role will provide education and support to families of clients with substance use, trauma and co-occurring mental health disorders including but not limited to assessment, planning, individual and family support, and family education.
Responsibilities:
* Carry an active assigned caseload
* Develop and maintain relationships with clients and families on assigned caseload
* Complete a thorough assessment of the family system and prescribe a documented growth plan and upload to EMR
* Conduct family education and support phone calls weekly with each client on caseload
* Complete weekly progress note uploaded to EMR
* Provide psycho-educational groups to clients
* Attend weekly clinical meeting on campus
* Collaborate with clinical director and each primary therapist of your caseload on a weekly basis, ensuring optimum outcomes for client
* Develop and maintain relationships with referring professionals
* Co-facilitate multifamily workshops to educate families, assist families in building healthy relationships and developing healthy communication skills
* Develop and implement webinars as educational tools for family members
* Co-facilitate client graduations on campus when client family is present for graduation.
* Provide crisis intervention/support to families
* Facilitate weekly family support calls
Minimum Qualifications:
* Master's degree in human service field
* Licensed as LCMHC, LCSW, or LMFT or license eligible
* Experience in facilitating group therapy
* Experience with experiential therapy
Preferred Qualifications:
* LCMHC, LCSW, LMFT, and LCAS or pursuing LCAS
* Dually licensed in both addiction and mental health treatment (or willing to seek both)
* Experience working with young adults in an eco-therapeutic setting
