The Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business and maintaining existing client relationships within the electrical contracting industry. This role involves identifying sales opportunities, presenting electrical contracting services to potential clients, and closing sales to achieve company revenue goals. The Sales Representative will work closely with project management and estimating teams to ensure client satisfaction and project success. Key Responsibilities: Opportunity Evaluation: Participate in team meetings to review potential projects and determine which opportunities align best with our capabilities. Business Development:Identify and pursue new opportunities across commercial, industrial, and residential sectors, develop strategic sales plans to meet targets, and conduct market research to identify potential clients and industry trends. Proposal Management: Once estimators prepare a proposal, you will submit it to general contractors and other decision-makers. Follow-Up: Actively follow up with contractors, facility managers, and other stakeholders to track the progress of submitted proposals. Monitor how projects are moving forward and identify if any adjustments to the initial bid are necessary. Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with commercial prospects, including facility managers, decision-makers, and general contractors. Education & Collaboration: Work with estimators and project managers to ensure they understand the full range of services we offer and leverage those services when pursuing opportunities. CRM & Documentation: Track project notes, company insights, and the status of opportunities using CRM systems and other tools to ensure the team has accurate and up-to-date information. Maintain accurate CRM records, provide regular sales reports and forecasts, and prepare and present performance metrics to senior management. Sales Presentations and Proposals:Prepare and deliver sales presentations, develop and submit detailed proposals and bids, and collaborate with the estimating team to ensure accurate, competitive pricing. Project Coordination: Work with project management and estimating teams to ensure smooth execution, communicate client requirements internally, and monitor project progress to address issues as they arise. Networking and Industry Involvement: Attend industry events and networking functions to promote services, stay informed on industry trends and competitors, and participate in relevant professional organizations. Qualifications: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Electrical Sales, Electrical Contracting or the construction industry. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. Strong understanding of electrical contracting services and industry standards. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. Valid drivers license and ability to travel as required. Physical Requirements: Ability to visit client sites and conduct on-site evaluations. Ability to work in an office environment and use standard office equipment. Work Environment: This position typically works in an office setting, but frequent visits to client sites and occasional travel are required. This position is responsible for insuring the integrity and safe working condition of all shop and billboard mounted electrical components/systems. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Installation and repair of wiring and conduit within the scope of the NEC (National Electrical Code) Repair and maintenance of electrical fixtures and control equipment. (Time Clock) Able to set and program time clocks. Planning for new or modified installations to minimize waste of material, provide access for future maintenance, lock all disconnects when leaving sign. Install equipment such as lighting fixtures, relays, ballast, breakers disconnects circuit breakers and fuses. Fasten in place with screws or bolts. Use the lock out tag out method. Identify and promptly report any unsafe conditions observed. PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS, ENVIRONMENT: Climbing and working at elevated heights in different weather and heat conditions sitting, walking, standing, speaking, hearing, reading, kneeling, lifting, carrying a minimum of 50 lbs., multiple concurrent tasks, frequent interruptions, verbal and written communication, detailed work and confidentiality. EQUIPMENT USED: Safety harness with lanyard and other personal protective equipment, various ladders, a multi-meter to determine voltage, power tools and hand tools. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have 2 years minimum electrical experience Ability without fearing to climb and work safely at elevated heights, 60ft or more. Read blueprints and schematic. Ability to troubleshoot and fix electrical problems. Should be a licensed electrician or be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge and experience to meet the definition of a qualified person in a sign/billboard work environment.
