Rate/per diem:
Licensed Journeyman - $45.00/hr; $100.00/day per diem (paid on 7 days if full week schedule worked)

Duties/Responsibilities of Licensed Electrician (including but not limited to):
Interpret blueprints and follow manufacturers' specifications
Participate in the construction installation, modification, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and components (lighting, wiring, transformers, outlets, circuit breakers, etc.)
Study wiring diagrams and manuals to determine correct installation and quality
Electrical testing and calibration
Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit/cable tray
Pulls wiring through conduit or lays cable in cable tray
Connects wring to switch gears, junction boxes, lighting fixtures and equipment
Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels
Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor and installs grounding leads
Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, hot stick, multi meter and/or oscilloscope
Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement
Repairs faulty equipment or systems using rulers, hand tools, hack saws, pipe threaders, conduit benders, ladders, etc.
Maintains tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts
Disassembles defective electrical equipment such as motors, switch gears and circuit breakers
Loads transports and unloads materials, tools, equipment and supplies
Assists in lifting, positioning and fastening objects such as wiring, conduit cable trays and motors
Clerical/administrative duties related to task or project documentation

They'll string, sag, and splice conductors (wires) and connect transformers and other equipment, trim trees, replace such equipment as broken insulators, split crossarms, cutouts, ties, faulty clamps or braces, and perform similar replacement or repair work as necessary to clear up storm damage.
We're seeking candidates who have a diploma from an accredited line worker program and a valid, unrestricted interstate commercial driver's license. Candidates must have knowledge of electric line construction, maintenance, and repair, be able to work outdoors in any weather, be able to climb, have complete knowledge of safety rules and can get along well with others. The selected candidates will be expected to learn to use electrical instruments, to operate hydraulic equipment and to work out of an aerial basket. We also have a comprehensive apprenticeship program designed to develop great journeymen line workers. Title: Route Service Apprentice
Department: Service Reports To: District Manager

Salary Grade: $20 to $24 per hour
INFORMATION
A Route Service Apprentice is one of those positions that many current CITY personnel started their career in. It is the position that gets people in the door of the Service Department. As a Route Service Apprentice, you will begin by riding with every single Route Service Representative at your location. From that, you will be able to pick up what makes each Route Service Representative great in their own personalized way. You will also have multiple mentors you can lean on to learn the basics of how things flow and work in Service Department. Once you complete the initial training, you will fill in for the routes when someone is out for vacation or needs additional assistance if they have a new account to install. The apprenticeship period typically lasts six to twelve months. Once a route opens up or we add a whole new route due to growth, the next step would be promoting you as a Route Service Representative, having your own route and your own customers to manage.
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for filling in or assisting on any of our 17 routes
Prompt and effective customer service
Loading and unloading of delivery truck with clean and/or soiled laundry
Delivering of products to customers
Ensure customer satisfaction;
Manage route efficiency and safety;
Positive communication with customers, potential customers and co-workers.
Product knowledge; pricing types, colors, sizing, inventory control, availability, product application.
Load truck: organization, invoices, paperwork, bags.
Account appearance: organization of rails, hanger racks, repair bags, lockers.
Truck maintenance: timely communication of repairs, preventative maintenance, cleanliness, accidents.
Ability to drive a commercial motor vehicle for at least 10 hours on a daily basis.
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds on a frequent basis.
Ability to drive a commercial motor vehicle for at least 10 hours on a daily basis.
Maintain hygienically clean standards of garments by proper handling
Other duties as assigned.
This position requires regular and reliable attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Clean driving record and valid Iowa Class D Chauffeurs drivers license required.
1-2 years job related and/or customer service related experience preferred

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Position Summary:
TheForemanis responsible for a variety of duties including the supervision and coordination of the activities of the HVAC field crew. They are responsible for all aspects of productivity, quality, and safety on the job site.

This position also includes exposure to areas off of the ground requiring the team member to work in a safe manner. The team member will also be exposed to loud noises where hearing protection is necessary and provided.

POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY
To provide staff and students with an attractive, comfortable, and safe environment in which to work and learn.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
The Electrician Journeyman must have a minimum of one-year experience in the electrical field. The experience may be substituted in lieu of certification in an electrical field.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Electrical Maintenance Responsibilities:
a. Repair and maintain all electrical systems and needs for the district.
b. Use and operate all tools, and vehicles needed to maintain, and service district buildings.
c. Cut, bend, run, install electrical conduit, pull wire, etc.
d. Perform any evening emergencies related to the electrical field (emergency lighting, exit signs, etc.).
e. Troubleshoot electrical problems that could occur.
f. Be knowledgeable with different electrical voltage and phases, (110, 220, 480, etc.).
g. Repair and troubleshoot intercoms, fire alarms, and low-voltage equipment.
h. Perform electrical repairs and any other work needed as directed by the maintenance foreman.
i. Maintain accurate record keeping and inventory to allow work orders to be completed in an accurate, efficient, economical, and quality manner.
j. Assist in loading and unloading materials, equipment, and supplies from trucks.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
1. Maintain a neat, clean personal appearance and wear district uniforms at all times when performing maintenance duties.
2. Perform emergency repairs as needed.
3. Must have a valid chauffeur's license or ability to obtain one within 1 month of employment and also maintain a good driving record.
4. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities or their designee.
5. Effectively communicate verbally, and in written form, with administrators, staff and the community as needed.
MENTAL DEMANDS
Ability to maintain confidentiality and have the ability to reason and make appropriate decisions. Must be able to work well under pressure and negotiate conflict situations as they arise.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing these duties, the employee is regularly required to reach, climb, bend, stand, and walk. The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp and use tools and climb ladders, as well as to use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk and hear. The employee must normally lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift, move, push, or pull up to 100 pounds.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Employment will be on an at-will basis for 12 months with two weeks vacation, beginning July 1, or from the time of employment for the duration of the school year with prorated vacation and/or personal leave. Each maintenance employee will be provided a work calendar showing the specific daily work schedule of the employee. The work calendar may be modified by the Board of Education at any time, as needs dictate. Eight and one-half hours (including a 30 minute non-paid lunch period) will constitute a workday. The Chief Human Resources Officer will establish a definite daily schedule. The yearly salary will be disbursed in twenty-four (24) equal payments.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of support staff personnel.
