Featuring two championship 18-hole golf courses along with a third short course, we will provide incredible options for our guests and local community for dining, events, and entertainment. The Greenskeeper I position is responsible for maintaining the golf courses, including the turf and surrounding grounds as directed by the Golf Course Superintendents. Responsibilities Operate hand mowers on greens, aprons, tees, fairways, rough, lake banks, around tees and grounds. Exercises extreme care not to injure turf and shrubs; Practices safety while operating equipment and reports equipment or course issues immediately. Edge cart paths, flymo bunker faces, string trim lake banks and around tees, edges and rakes sand bunkers. Completion of jobs and cleanup of the work area as required. Excavate and back fills trenches with hand tools, operates utility vehicles as required. Make sure, while operating equipment and hand tools, that all necessary and supplied safety equipment is worn. (Glasses, ear plugs and hard hats) and that all tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored and maintained as required. Clean machines after use and makes minor adjustments to the equipment under the supervision of the mechanic. CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES A complete clean and neat uniform must be worn when working on any PAC Property including nights and weekends, if applicable. Read and/or listen to resident requests/complaints. Receive resident complaints in a calm, open, and professional manner. On occasion, you may be required to move furniture from one model unit to another or move furniture items in a resident's apartment to accomplish certain repairs or to correct flood damage. Overnight differential. * MUST BE WILLING TO UNDERGO AN ONSITE DRUG SCREEN* * --------------------------------------------------------- Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Gathers and removes litter; disposes trash or waste materials. * Uses hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes. * Operates vehicles or powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chain-saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws. * Irrigates lawns, trees, or plants. * Prunes or trims trees, shrubs, or hedges. * Mows or edges lawns using power mowers or edgers. * Follows planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers or foliage. * Clears sidewalks, driveways and parking lots of debris. * Performs minor repairs; maintains all assigned equipment, vehicles and trailers, to include checking fluid levels, refueling, checking tire pressure, cleaning adjusting and greasing. * Attends training and other required company functions as required. * Performs other duties as assigned. * --------------------------------------------------------- Knowledge Skills & Abilities: * Education: High School diploma or G.E.D certificate preferred. * Experience: Previous experience in ground maintenance/horticulture preferred. * Ability to read and write the English language. * Ability to properly and safely operate all hand tools and power equipment used in ground maintenance activities. * Ability to work in a variety of outside conditions for long periods of time. * Ability to assume a variety of bodily positions and postures possibly for long periods of time to include sitting, standing, bending, reaching, leaning, pushing, pulling, grasping, turning, twisting, lifting and walking. * --------------------------------------------------------- Work Environment & Physical Responsibilities: Duties are performed in a loud production setting subject to extreme temperatures. Some duties may be required to be performed outside. Comfortable with repetitive movement, kneeling, crouching and stooping. Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls. Requires lifting up to 50 pounds while bending, twisting and/or standing.
