JOB SUMMARY: The Probation Officer plays a pivotal role in carrying out the work of the Court and furthering the primary mission of Probation Services to ensure the safety and protection of the community, uphold offender accountability, and aid in offender rehabilitation. Upon gaining knowledge and expertise, the Probation Officer may be assigned to perform mentoring, training, educational and leadership tasks within the Department.
This is a peace officer classification; the Probation Officer has powers of arrest for offenders under the jurisdiction of the Adams County Court of Common Pleas. There is a potential risk of physical injury and/or death associated with the work of the Probation Services Department. The Probation Officer may carry an approved, office-issued firearm upon satisfactory completion of the established Pennsylvania County Probation Officers Firearm Commission course and receipt of certification. Completion of any required subsequent courses to retain certification is also required. It should be noted that those who carry a firearm assume an immense responsibility that must be taken very seriously.
HOURS WORKED: The individual working in the position of Probation Officer traditionally follows the operating hours of the Adams County Court of Common Pleas, which is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. However, it is to be understood that the Court may set hours, change start and end times, require working through lunch periods, require overtime work, require weekend and/or evening work, or in any other way adjust schedules as needed to ensure the availability of judicial services to the public and to ensure efficient court operations. After training period, Probation Officers have a more flexible schedule depending upon their caseload.

About the Role
Michael Bonsby HVAC, Plumbing, and Electric is looking for a Plumbing Installer to install residential plumbing systems, including water heaters, re-pipes, fixtures, and related equipment, with quality and professionalism. This person will ensure every homeowner feels informed and confident throughout the installation process. This is a full-time role reporting to the Plumbing Manager.
What You'll Do
Complete residential plumbing installations, including water heaters, piping, fixtures, and equipment
Review job scopes, gather required materials, and ensure trucks are properly stocked
Communicate with clients to explain installation steps, answer questions, and provide outstanding service
Ensure all work meets local plumbing codes and company quality standards
Coordinate with inspectors and follow proper permitting requirements when needed
Maintain clear and consistent communication with dispatch and your supervisor
Keep a clean, organized, and safe workspace-both in client homes and in company vehicles
Complete accurate and timely paperwork (job notes, invoices, time cards, material lists)
Participate actively in all required training, meetings, and development activities
Work efficiently to meet installation timelines and performance goals
Participate in the on-call rotation as needed
Maintain a clean, professional appearance
Obtain any required certifications if not already held

Duties: The Structures Preservation Branch is responsible for the maintenance and preservation of historic and non-historic structures throughout the park. This position requires skills applied to the maintenance, stabilization, restoration, repair and/or reconstruction of various historic and non-historic structures that range widely in historic period, architectural style, construction materials and existing condition.
* Will perform a variety of basic trade tasks often combining trade practices such as carpentry, painting and roofing.
* Carpentry duties require --measure, cut, construct, install, repair and reproduce wooden historic building elements on frame, timber or log structures including windows, doors, flooring and molding.
* Will use traditional and modern hand tools to obtain finished surfaces typical of those found on existing historic wooden surfaces; and will also clean and prepare historic materials for re-use in preservation work.
* Performs painting tasks which include surface preparation and mixing of paints to approximate color and texture of historic paints.
* Assists with the inspection of historic structures/sites/landscapes onsite to determine physical condition and the type and amount of maintenance required to maintain them in the proper condition.
* Makes technical recommendations to higher-level specialist and professionals regarding type of preservation treatment and/or preventative maintenance

Must be skilled in the use of all hand tools such as skill saw, electric drill, router, chain saw, sander, table saws, jointer, radial saw, planer, shaper, floor sander and surfacing machines. 2) Knowledge of techniques and procedures involving the repair or construction of masonry structures and surfaces of brick, block stone and other related materials which involve repair of such items as partitions, walls, walkways and fireplaces. Must ensure the proper proportion of sand, lime cement and water are used to obtain the appropriate consistency. Must be able to use a variety of hand and power tools such as brick or napping hammer, brick or skill saw in cutting and shaping brick and axe, pick, chisel and hammer in cutting or shaping stone. 3) Ability to read, interpret and apply building plans, specifications, blueprints, sketches, working drawings and building codes. 4) Knowledge of investigation techniques and condition evaluations for historic structures to provide recommendations for appropriate preservation treatment on conventional and typical restoration/preservation projects. Knowledge of historic fabric identifications, analyzing of physical condition of structures and assessing preservation requirements. Skill in architectural investigations techniques when inspecting historic structures to determine their physical condition and the type and level of preservation treatments required to maintain their proper condition. 5) Knowledge of a wide variety of periods and styles of architectural designs, architectural history as pertains to 19th and 20th century periods of structure design and craftsmanship.

Physical Demands: The incumbent performs work at construction sites. There is considerable physical exertion related to actions such as lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying objects of various sizes, weights, and shapes. There is considerable standing, stooping, lifting, and bending. Because of the multi-faceted craft aspects of this position, which requires the incumbent to work overhead or in a stretched, cramped, or awkward positions. Fieldwork magnifies the physical effort required to perform the duties of this position and reflect actual restoration project environments. Incumbent is required to perform craftsman work in the investigation of historic structures. Inspections may require working in cramped, close quarters underneath structures or on rooftops several hundred feet above ground level. The incumbent occasionally may lift and carry items that weigh 50 pounds or more. Back country work may require the incumbent to hike or ride by horseback to the job site in remote locations over rough terrain.
Working Conditions: Work is performed throughout the park, where the incumbent is subject to cuts from hand or power tools and danger from flying splinters or chips. In the shop the incumbent is exposed to noise and sawdust in the air. The presence of lead paint on historic fabric may require special knowledge and handling and the use of protective equipment in the ship or at the job site and require special attention and the sue of safety equipment. Work is done both inside and outside in all types of weather. Temperatures may vary from -20 to 90+ degrees. Winter snow depths may vary with icy driving conditions involved. May be exposed to snow and icy in the winter and rain and wind in the summer. Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license. Considering the nature of historic structures and the unknown structural characteristics, field inspections may contain some hazardous conditions (e.g. asbestos, PCBs).

Our employees can work between the hours of 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. depending on the assignments on their schedule for any given day. This is not a regular 9 - 5 job. If you are the type of person that does not like stagnant office work, this job is for you. Everyday will be different and you will be meeting a variety of pets and sometimes even their two-legged humans.
Because the majority of our work is "on the road", we require all employees to have access to a mobile phone at all time. The mobile phone must be a smartphone as the software we utilize requires an internet connection. Employees are expected to respond to management texts and calls during business hours of 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. 7 days a week. as necessary.
We care for a variety of pets, i.e. dog, cats, reptiles, birds, rodents, fish, etc. Because of wide range of pets in our care, applicants must be physically capable of handling animals of various kinds and sizes.
Regular responsibilities include walking or lifting large dogs, cleaning up bodily wastes, dealing with muddy yards, etc.
Employees are expected to work in all weather conditions.
