The Los Rios Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Adjunct positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year-round for assignmentsbased on college needs.This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years in May. Applicants in this pool will remain active until the pool is refreshed and will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool.
The adjunct faculty member shall be responsible for the following: counseling services, and/or teaching assigned classes, under the supervision of the area dean; helping students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content; assessing student learning outcomes; maintaining a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in their regular teaching field; continuing professional development; utilizing current technology in the performance of job duties; maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position; assisting with articulation and curriculum development and review; serving on college committees and participating in faculty governance including accreditation and student co-curricular activities; assuming other responsibilities as assigned by the area dean; fulfilling other duties and responsibilities of an adjunct faculty member.
The assignment may include instructing classes, which could result in a Counselor/Instructional split assignment.
Position Salary Information:
Initial maximum salary placement is based on academic degree, upper/graduate level units earned, and/or related professional occupational experience per the Los Rios College Federation of Teachers Contract (the initial maximum placement is Class V, Step 1). Typical Duties
The assignment may include, but is not limited to:
* Providing academic, career, personal, and multi-cultural counseling, and disability related counseling services to students with disabilities, both individually and in groups.
* Offering crisis intervention and referrals to appropriate support services for students experiencing mental health or other personal challenges.
* Providing individual and group counseling to assist students in making decisions regarding associate degrees of transfer, transfer, and career/occupational goals.
* Using current technology to provide counseling services to students attending the college through distance education programs.
* Working with four-year colleges and universities to assist students in a smooth transition to those institutions.
* Conducting intakes to verify students' disability through observation and/or analysis of disability documentation and determine eligibility for disability services.
* Identifying students' educational limitations and needs to determine appropriate accommodations, strategies, auxiliary aids, and services.
* Developing and maintaining an Academic Accommodations Plan (AAP) for each eligible student to authorize specific services and reasonable accommodations.
* Developing an individualized Integrated Student Educational Plan (ISEP) for each eligible student and monitor students' academic progress.
* Referring students to and coordinating with campus services and community agencies to ensure students receive appropriate services.
* Collaborating with students, faculty, and staff to develop and implement accommodation plans tailored to students' individual needs.
* Advocating for students with disabilities to ensure equal access to educational opportunities and resources.
* Providing training and support to faculty and staff on accommodating students with disabilities and creating an inclusive learning environment.
* Staying informed about laws, regulations, and best practices related to disability services in higher education.
* Using current technology, preparing and maintaining accurate records/case notes, relaying pertinent information to college personnel as needed, and respecting the confidentiality of such records as required by law.
* Fulfill other duties and responsibilities of an adjunct faculty member.
Performing other duties as assigned.
May teach courses that include college success skills, personal development, career exploration, career decision-making skills and skills specific to students with disabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
* Have a master's in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy or marriage, family, and child counseling, student personnel; ORa bachelor's degree in in one of the listed degrees ANDa possession of a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT); OR the equivalent*. All degrees must be from an accredited institution completed by time of hire.
* Have at least 15 semester units in upper division or graduate level course work related to people with disabilities; ORcompletion of six semester units; ORthe equivalent of a graduate level counseling practicum or counseling field work courses, in post-secondary Disabled Students Programs and Services (DSPS) program, or in a program dealing predominantly or exclusively with people with disabilities; OR two years of full-time experience, or the equivalent, in one or more of the following;
(A) Counseling for students with disabilities; or
(B) Counseling in industry, government, public agencies, military or private social welfare organizations in which the responsibilities are for persons with disabilities.

Our Camp Counselor positions have the potential to serve as competitively paid internships that meet your course credit needs.
First and foremost, your primary responsibilities will be as a Camp Counselor. As an Intern, you will be expected to fulfill your regular daily job responsibilities and it will be up to you to complete your internship responsibilities and to ensure that they do not interfere with your work obligations. Contact your college advisor in advance and ask them if you can use your summer camp job as a practicum, internship or for other course credits. If KE Camps can meet your internship requirements, your on-site Camp Director will be your field supervisor and oversee your course work. You will also be connected to a KE Camps contact at our HQ in Skillman, NJ. To receive credit, you must complete the course, practicum or internship per your college's parameters and complete your summer employment.
As a Camp Counselor, you will be an active participant in all camp activities and will assist your Camp Director with a variety of daily tasks, all with the goal of creating a memorable and meaningful camp experience for your campers. Our Counselors interact with our campers throughout the entire day, helping them make friends, try new things, and generally caring for their well-being. The role of a Counselor is to participate, build relationships and have fun while ensuring the physical and emotional safety of every child.
Camp Counselor Qualities
Ability to help children grow in character, experiences and insights
Ability to guard the health and well-being of campers at all times
Capable of sustaining energy for participation in a full day's worth of activities
Prior experience working with children
Enthusiastic, Responsible, Dependable, Consistent, Level-Headed, Flexible, and Calm in all situations
CPR/First Aid Certified OR willing to become certified before the summer begins
Camp Counselor Responsibilities
Work with group of campers and provide a fun, safe and exciting camp experience
Cooperate with fellow Counselors and Camp Director
Greet families and campers upon arrival
Support Camp Director in establishing rules and emergency procedures with campers
Participate in all camp activities
Supervise daily swim time in a hands-on manner from within the water (lifeguard certification not required)
Help out where needed and lead activities when asked to by the Camp Director
Complete other duties, as assigned

Our camp is located at Serrano Country Club in El Dorado Hills, CA. Camp will run Monday-Friday from June 8 through July 24 - staff members must be available to work the full camp season.
