ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Along with those identified below, other duties may be assigned. • Specifies and implements manufacturing processes to meet quality, delivery and cost targets • Uses DBS tools and lean concepts in development of manufacturing processes and new product development • Works with internal and/or external personnel on the specification, design, build and qualification of capital equipment, gauging and tooling • Prepares budgets and estimates for capital equipment, gauging, tooling and product cost. • Leads or participates in prototyping efforts for development project • Creates tooling, fixture and machine designs and drawings using CAD software • Completes plant and/or cell level layouts • Provides technical input to development teams in the areas of design for manufacturability and manufacturing process development • Achieves budgets and project milestones for development projects • Leads or participates with a cross functional team to create PFMEA and DFMEA documentation • Creates standard work documentation for manufacturing cells • Creates manufacturing work instructions and provides operator training and certification • Executes development process so that quality, cost, and delivery targets are met • Manages Capital Equipment expenditures for development projects • Actively monitors new manufacturing technology for potential use in motor manufacturing KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NECESSARY: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
