Responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the bagging machines that package snack products for distribution. Conduct ISO 9001 internal audits and process audits alongside the QA Supervisor; track and close findings. Review and comply with all required QTs, SQPs, and L4 documents relevant to testing and material compliance. Manage calibration and measurement system requirements for gauges, testing, and measuring equipment; maintain accuracy of database (IQMS) and escalate needs for repair or replacement. Support to Production & Cross-Functional Collaboration Communicate quality issues to Production and Supervisors promptly. Work with cross-functional teams to resolve in-process concerns in a timely manner. Support QA and Production supervisors in investigating and resolving internal and external non-conformance issues. Provide training and coaching to Production personnel on quality standards, best practices, and correct use of gauges and measurement tools. Customer Samples & Regulatory Testing Manage the collection, inspection, documentation, retention, and shipment of customer samples. Ensure timely execution and proper documentation of periodic testing requirements (e.g., stiffness tests, semi-annual hydro tests, NSF annual samples, FM Approval tests). Prepare customer documentation packages as required by individual inspection and test plans or Sales Orders. Maintain all quality records according to company policies and retention requirements. The Quality Technician 1 is responsible for quality inspection for all products to ensure they conform to all applicable company and quality standards. This position will test products after, in process, and in final stages to ensure quality levels are met. What You'll Do Ensures all test equipment is properly maintained and calibrated Performs routine & job specific load performance tests to ensure compliance with published specs. Performs incoming inspections on products received from vendor. Has a working knowledge of all equipment and machinery within the facility. Performs daily in process quality audits on products on production floor. Performs testing needed for qualifications of new or revised products. Maintains updated certified testing reports on standard products. Assists with continuous improvement of product and manufacturing processes to improve quality, reduce costs, and ensure product quality objectives are met. As assigned by supervisor, visits job sites to identify problems and recommends solutions. Maintains good housekeeping and follow established safety procedures. Performs other duties as assigned or directed by Team Leader/Supervisor. Follows all policies, procedures, and work instructions including Employee Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manufacturing Operating Procedures (MOPs), Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), and Safety Manual. Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service. What You'll Bring High school diploma or GED; or equivalent experience. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop or crouch for at least an 8-hour shift. Must be computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Products. Ability to use various tools and measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, dial indicators, feeler gauges, etc. and verify all test equipment is in calibration and maintained in good working order. Strong shop-floor orientation. Knowledge of aluminum cutting and milling operation is a plus. Must be able to work in a fast-paced working environment with accuracy and integrity.
