* Responsible for following all food safety policies, procedures and regulatory criteria including the current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and associated preventive controls

Essential Functions
Responsible for overall maintaining of a production line, including starting and stopping of all equipment (palletizers, carton makers, carton sealers, drop packers, injection, etc.) as applicable.

They also have to edit, cut and provide a DVD or CD of the above products to the Army so that they can review and use them in an informed manner when training an exercised unit. At Ft. Leavenworth the production technician is tasked to help set up the team conference rooms for classes and briefings. The production technician also sets up LCD projectors and computers throughout the team building to support training on the teams.

Primary Responsibilities:
Setup and operate a variety of machinery used in the production of precision parts.
Use standard inspection tools (ring, plug, micrometers, calipers, bore gages, optical comparator).
Input CNC programs as needed.
Participates in lean events, design reviews, cost reductions, cycle time savings, and training.
Understand and follow established quality and safety standards.
Follow approved processes to provide finished goods with a focus on quality and on-time delivery.
Keep an organized work area in order to maintain a productive and safe work environment.
Interact daily with production coordinators to communicate progress and take additional instruction.

The Production Technician position is proficient at three positions on a line, able to perform all the functions of those positions in an accurate and efficient manner. The individual at this level should be capable of performing all of the following functions; Bagger, Mixer, and Floor Operations. Complies with all safety regulations, work rules, SOP's and company policies. Ensures that line meets all BRC, GMP and safety standards.
Major Accountabilities
Competent operation of equipment and execution of all aspects of Mixing, Bagging, and Floor Operations
Responsible for completing all paperwork in an accurate manner.
Responsible for following all written instructions and formulas.
Responsible for complying with all safety regulations, food safety procedures including all BRC and GMP requirements and specifications, and use of the appropriate PPE.
Generalized Tasks
Clean and sterilize vats and factory processing areas.
Follow recipes to produce food products of specified flavor, texture, clarity, bouquet, or color.
Inspect equipment after cleaning to ensure that product residue has been removed.
Observe and listen to equipment to detect possible malfunctions, such as leaks or plugging, and report malfunctions supervisors.
Place products on carts or conveyors to transfer them to the next stage of processing.
Record production and test data for each food product batch, such as the ingredients used, temperature, test results, and time cycle.
Set up, operate, and tend equipment that mixes, blends, or processes ingredients in the manufacturing of food products, according to formulas or recipes.
Perform safety inspections in manufacturing or industrial setting.
Requirements
Experience: Previous experience in manufacturing, warehouse or related environment preferred.
Education: High School Diploma or the equivalent
Must be able to perform job functions.
Requires the use of: telephones, paging system, PC, timekeeping, copying and other office machines and equipment.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift 50 Lbs. repetitively throughout the day.
