Job Description
Uncommon Middle School Math teachers work in grade level teams to help students grow towards being self-guided learners. At the heart of all math classes is a deep joy for mathematics, and our teachers work hard to refine their own mastery of the subject. Math teachers use a variety of instructional strategies to cultivate the skills and the mindset required to persevere and solve problems. At the conclusion of eighth grade, students are prepared for the academic autonomy and college preparatory focus of our high schools.
Responsibilities
1. Instruction
You'll teach foundational middle school math principles such as ratio/proportions, expressions/equations, the number system, and more!
You'll use our in-house CCSS-based Math curriculum and culturally responsive problem-solving activities.

All core academic teachers* assigned to teach English learners are required to earn the SEI endorsement. Organizational Scope:
The Part-Time Math Tutors will provide small group and individual intervention for identified students with a focus on delivering targeted Tier 2 interventions. Position Summary:
The role of the Early College Academic Tutor is to support students' academic learning and achievement in early college coursework. The ideal candidate should possess excellent instructional skills to provide academic support to students in a variety of early college course offerings, including but not limited to Social Ethics, Composition, and History. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
ABA tutors are required to have a bachelor's degrees or master's degrees in psychology or
related fields or significant specific training on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
provided by an educational or training institution. Training should focus on principles and
procedures of behavioral analysis, along with attending courses in observational methods,
behavioral applications and developmental disability treatment. Additionally, ABA tutors must
participate in ongoing job-based competency training via in-service professional development.
Licensure is not mandatory for ABA therapists who work directly with students in school settings
at this time. ABA tutors must be currently trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) for both
active and passive intervention with students in crisis. If not certified prior to employment, the
ABA tutor must be willing to be trained by WPS. If certification has lapsed, the ABA tutor must
agree to attend continued training/ongoing re-certification.
