Nathan S. Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research (NKI), an Office of Mental Health (OMH) Joint Commission accredited facility, is recruiting a Clinical Lab Technologist to serve as a Medical Technologist 1.
As a Medical Technologist 1, you will perform specialized chemical, physical, and microscopic clinical laboratory procedures and tests on human tissue specimens and body fluids in accordance with approved standards and operating procedures in NKI's Clinical Laboratory.
Duties:
Prepares specimens and samples for testing
Operates, adjusts, monitors, and maintains clinical laboratory instruments and equipment
Prepares and analyzes specimens and samples for use in clinical laboratory proficiency testing
Analyzes, interprets, and discusses test results and findings with higher-level clinical laboratory staff, healthcare professionals, and/or scientists.
Documents clinical laboratory activities, maintains required records, and prepares statistical reports.
Analyzes, interprets, and discusses test results and findings with higher-level clinical laboratory staff, healthcare professionals, and/or scientists.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology;
OR
Minimum of 90 semester hours or equivalent in an accredited college or university and the successful completion of a course of training of at least 12 months in a school of medical technology approved by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association;

Bachelor's degree in one of the Chemical, Physical, or Biological Sciences and one year of training and/or experience in medical technology;

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Cath Lab Tech with expertise in cardiac catheterization and vascular procedures. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in operating advanced imaging equipment and will be responsible for assisting the medical team during various diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Responsibilities
Assist in a variety of procedures, including cardiac catheterization, PCI, fistograms, and vascular angiograms.
Scrub in for procedures using Philips x-ray machines and collaborate with the medical team in a fast-paced environment.
Monitor patient conditions and provide support in the administration of medications and other treatments as needed.
Document procedures and patient responses accurately using GE Mac Lab and Cerner systems.
Participate in on-call rotations, including weekends and holidays, as required.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
ARRT(R) certification and New Jersey license (can be obtained prior to start).
BLS and ACLS certifications required.
2-3 years of current experience in a Cath Lab with both cardiac and vascular procedures.

Neuro experience preferred.
Familiarity with IVUS, PFR, IFR equipment is a plus.

Maintain accurate documentation, including patient records, imaging data, and equipment logs

Responsibilities

Participate in the identification, design, development and implementation of hospital laboratory management services. Participate in implementation plans, start up and ongoing management for both internal (regional business needs) and external customer (hospital client) contracting requirements.
Interfaces with internal and external resources to ensure successful and timely completion of the lab management arrangement and the ongoing contract success of operations in accordance with client and company needs.
Participates in training hospital management and/or staff and is responsible for evaluating the project effectiveness and outcome. Manager is a key player in performance of the project team and evaluates overall team performance.

Hospital Service Manager has direct line of responsibility for Diagnostics supervisors and staff at the client locations, to maintain relationships and communications with hospital client, sales, Professional Lab Services Team,

Regional accountability for a successful and timely client contract launch and ongoing operations.
Provide regular and detailed project status to internal team members and client. Highlight issues, scope of services, with ongoing monthly and quarterly hospital reporting on productivity, quality, equipment and process flows.

SUMMARY
Laboratory Technician I is responsible for the creation of finished goods in the Normal Human and Animal processing laboratory. Create detailed records of all processes, data, and results in specified forms. Processes must be completed per work instructions.
Coordinate with documentation, inventory, and shipping teams to ensure finished goods are created, processed and shipped with accuracy and in a timely manner.
Maintain a clean and orderly processing environment, practice safe work habits, ensure that all safety guidelines are strictly followed while complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations.
