JOB DUTIES * MLT Student Support Specialist will work closely with the MLT faculty to support students in the instructional setting. * Responsible for lab session preparation, implementing lab simulations, and providing services that contribute to student learning and student retention. * Ability to collaborate with faculty in identifying needs and developing and implementing creative laboratory and simulation learning environments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Work with MLT Faculty to setup each MLT course's hands-on lab exercises. * In collaboration with faculty, review and update laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) manuals and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). * Maintain inventory of supplies and assist with ordering. * Act as the point person for troubleshooting technical issues surrounding lab/simulation equipment. * Meet with MLT student's one on one and/or in-group sessions to reinforce course content. * Assist students in the development good test-taking strategies. * Mentor students on career and academic advancement as a competent medical laboratory technician. * Assist in preparing materials for accreditation reports, as needed. * Other duties may be assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES N/A WORKING CONDITIONS The position requires flexible availability, including days, evenings, and weekends. The position is part time, with hours varying between 8 - 24 hours per week. Please note this position is grant funded and continued employment is subject to grant renewal.
